Now on Imus.com (by Julie Kanfer):
Craig Crawford stopped by for a rare in-studio appearance to hand deliver to Imus the very first copy of his and Helen Thomas's forthcoming book, "Listen Up, Mr. President," which comes out the first week of October.
To welcome Crawford, Imus spent a few minutes speaking extemporaneously about his prostate cancer, explaining that much of the treatment for prostate cancer is fear-based. Luckily, Imus has no cancer in his blood or in his lymph nodes, and he is willing to deal with having the cancer inside of him, something many people are unwilling to do.
"But enough about me," he said to Crawford. "How do you think I look?"
But Imus's tale was relatable for his guest, whose friend's brain cancer diagnosis has forced him to put things in perspective. "He keeps a blog," Crawford said about his pal, "How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Have Brain Cancer Instead."
Imus asked his second southern-born guest of the day why President Obama's election to office has fanned the flames not only of racism in this country, but of accusations of racism directed at almost anybody who dares criticize Obama.
"I grieve for racism," said Crawford. "But I also grieve for this pattern of turning every criticism, legitimate or otherwise, of Obama into calling that racist. I think that dilutes what is real racism."
Crawford, however, has picked up on a tendency of Obama's to be careful when commenting on the actions of white people, like the police officer in Cambridge who arrested Henry Louis Gates. The President initially said the officer acted "stupidly," and quickly backed away from that characterization.
On the other hand, Crawford continued, "He's very quick to call Kanye West a jackass, he's very quick to go before a black audience and give tough talk. I think black leaders are beginning to think, what have we gained here? Is our first black president turning red?"
That observation led Crawford to wonder how Obama would have reacted now to the I-Man's "great unpleasantness" from a few years back, when he called for Imus's firing.
In Obama's defense, Imus said the President was goaded into saying that by "that Howdy Doody-looking, gutless, sniveling, wretched, pigeon gut-sucking coward" David Gregory.
Imus shared with Crawford that Bernard and Charles were exercised by the Massachusetts legislature's intention to overturn a 2004 law banning the Governor from filling a vacant Senate seat by appointment, which at the time suited their fancy because the Governor was a Republican. Now that Democrat Deval Patrick is in office and Sen. Kennedy has recently passed, it's a different story, one that Bernard and Charles find totally hypocritical.
Said Crawford, "If hypocrisy was a virus in politics, they'd all be dead."

So many thoughts Craig on target.
Jews that voted for Obama might be turning red too. One day the WH issues a strategy paper on reassuring Israel and trying to box in Iran and five days later Obama advisor Brezinski adds this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8267189.stm
So there is a real debate where the hell Obama is going on many fronts from Afghanistan to South America but the debate and even coverage is often stifled by Liberals waving the "You're a Warmonger" card. In fact, these days the subject of self-defense (and defending serious national self-interest) is not unlike the racism game. War monger, like racist can be used to silence political debates and disrupt urgent focus on real dangers, threats and mistakes..
I am glad that some reputable people like yourself are not afraid to distinguish between the genuine and manipulated in such hot button issues such as race and try to call them like you really see them, no matter the PC.

(for Craig's next thread not found)
Okay, here’s the Afghanistan political chronology:
“Afghanistan is the central front on the war of terror”.
Comments by Obama telegraphing bombing Pakistan.
Obama’s Summer of 2008 paper highlights bringing the battle to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Obama launches a surge and then appoints McChrystal to take charge and recalibrate “success” in Afghanistan after the surge flounders.
McChrystal requests more troops.
Obama is silent as Democratic opposition of Afghanistan increases.
And this today:
http://www.rr.com/news/topic/article/rr/9000/8980625/Sources_US_eyes_more_drone_hits_on_terror_havens
Why has this been released after the importance Obama has placed in the yet to be released McCrystal report? The record of internal hit jobs is astounding. And this release launches into a series of new debates as did the last minute change in missile defense policy. That as well as this suggestion for drones, brings up serious questions about intelligence and negotiating positions. And what debate are we having about all of this? And this behavior is not limited to Afghanistan.
One day Obama goes on a full court press explaining the shift on missile defense and signals a new red line on Iran with advanced collaboration on missile defense with Israel. Obama orders super bunker busters.
Then just today on the eve of talks with Abbas and Netanyahu, Brezinski suggests the US should openly declare the US will shoot down an Israel pre-emptive strike on Iran bringing up the USS Liberty incident.
This is complete loss of spin from the Left in the last week with Carter himself helping to divert message towards race is damaging. It is a critical cross road and Liberals are at cross purposes mixing up the message to the point of chaos.
In the meantime, Pakistan who undoubtedly reads these AP stories, stops short of terminating the Taliban and releases AQ Khan. While government soldiers have battled the Taliban, they are far from victory and even admit the Taliban will continue to “serve in the national interest of Pakistan” no matter what the US , Israel or India thinks.
The “moderate” government warns that more US strikes or micromanagement of aid and money will damage relationship. So some press Obama to bomb his way out of Afghanistan. What will happen having been wrong already about what ability the new moderate government would do in office? We see a wandering US foreign strategy with confusing signals to all. Iran in the administration spin has little linkage with the Palestinian Israeli issue, yet drones will secure Afghanistan by hitting Pakistan..
Who makes this stuff up? It certainly doesn’t sound like Hillary. The missile defense switch seems like her, though the entire opera hinges on a credibility that has thus been lacking. Hillary would have openly declared sending US technical crews to the Negev.
So let’s bomb our way out of Afghanistan by hitting Pakistan?
And thus confused uncertainty may in itself mismanage a war into defeat, a war that Democrats claimed Bush was merely losing. The central front on the war of terror.

The probabilities concerning a convergence of all known criminal behavior including the video tapes still defy random imperfection.
I rather doubt that that Obama was unaware that his campaign's Get OUt the Vote purchase of ACORN's election help equalled the amount the IRS was going after.
There is certainly the case of administration officials asking NEA grant recipients or expectant recipients to create some advertizing for Democrats. It seems like Quid Pro Quo.
I do note scientists now have confirmed a news story I posted more than a year ago. We are entering a slight cooling period not fully understood. This may last several years. There is still the expectation warming factors will eventually return.
There are other time bombs needing mitigation and debate like dams, irrigation, crop choices, waste and resource management, particulate pollution, oceanic pollution, etc. which critically impact our ecosystem. Don't expect any moderating pauses like we see with our climate to slow things from getting worse..

Bob, I'm curious. Out of the tens of thousands of corporations across the US, what percentage do you think are engaged in criminal behavior?
What percentage of CEOs are involved in corruption? What percentage of Republicans and Democrats both State and Federal are involved in such criminality? Sounds like your definition of corporations implies some criminality. As far as profit, shareholders make that too.
Bonus questions: You think Czars are paid? What do you think they make? $100,000?
Okay, far too many questions for you....

Anyone else concerned that the military leak of McChrystal's report on Afghanistan speaking to multiple FAILURES if the president doesn't follow his recommendations AND the right-wing cries of foreign policy FAILURES is a marriage waiting in the breach? Right-wingers want their country back; how far will they go to "get it back"? Seven Days in May (Octogber) in the making? I know I'm concerned. Afterall, the military and the right-wing in this country have the guns -- the rest of us don't! Alarmist? I hope I am -- and that it's a false alarm! Sound the alarms!
