So now Mike Barnicle thinks Bill Clinton is a great guy? Hosting MSNBC's "Hardball" tonight he sang the former president's praises as a savior for President Obama's embattled health reform plan. But last year Barnicle joined the chorus of those who maligned the Clintons as racists. Those who still say the Clintons are racists are at least consistent. But those who conveniently reverse their stand are simply frauds. Consider the Ed Schultze about face.

presidential candidates debate on Morning Joe, political and social commentator Mike Barnicle said Sen. Hillary Clinton "look[ed] like everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court," eliciting laughter from the all-male panel that featured MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, Willie Geist, and David Shuster.

Craig, with regards, to http://mediamatters.org/research/200801260001?f=h_latest,
I recognize that you stand now where you stood then...I'm just saying that I can't fathom your shock that a fickle member of the media could flip flop...since it's Barnicle, maybe he "copied" the sentiment from Chris Matthews?

Barnicle isn't the only one and I can only praise Craig's courage. It is rare in the world of journalism. Funny, I don't see media charactirizing protesters in Pittsburg as "Democrats". So these people vote Republican? Just the latest failure of media. Another would be why Democrats are afraid to post the Senate Bill on the internet or why a gag order is on Humana despite the fight in Congress over the 130 million slash to advantage.
But let me not digress. Race was used to sink Clinton and Edwards took advantage of the claim. He worked nicely with Obama to corner Hillary and make her look bad in the debates. I guess the "new history" media vomits forth smacks of Newspeak with Barnicle leading the way.........

I'm proud that I wrote in Hillary in the November election. Obama was leading by 16 points in my state so that gave me some cover.
If we don't get a strong public option I may not vote for Obama in 2012 either.

Small media has to investiage stuff like this because big media has their own agenda. Brietbart has to investiage because media is in bed with their friends. And if some asshole murder a census worker because of anger at government, whether Left or Right, let the hammer fall. We can't hide reality, nor spin it. Some media is beginning to scare me as some web sites have years ago.
At this hour, the BBC headlines protesters in Pittsburg, but CNN is silent. BBC calls the protesters Anarchists but they undoubtedly include Democratic voters and the ISM crowd as the link above explains. ISM, not MSM. You know, the radical groups that often post on the Trinity Newsletter. Like Democrats conclude racism must be lurking in the town hall shoutouts, does something very disturbing exist here too?
Will Oberslam dissect the forces on the street in Pittsburg? Seems he had copious commentary on tea parties and town meetings. Eloquent vivsections of the anatomy of conservatism in heat.
My question is why doesn't this "protest" make mainstream Liberals disgusted. Hell, the leading denouncer of Capitalism after Castro, Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Bin Laden is Moore and I bet he's there in bodacious body if not spirit. It is one thing to be outraged by the nimrods on the Right, but when some take the "liberal" label and shout in the name of "reform, progress and fairness" while holding their own Hitler posters and threats of violence, why the silence? Isn't this more disturbing because it comes from your rear?
I am not attacking the right of people upset with the G-20 for various reasons to protest. Some conservatives have complaints. I would expect however, how and what they are protesting means something. Liberals need to clean their side of the isle because the buildup of imported crap always proves fatal years out. Part of who comes out for these G-20 meetings is partly responsible for getting Obama's vote out. The inability for Democrats to see this and to stay on centered message may prove their undoing.
The Republicans implode in a slightly different way.

I agree KGC, if Obama, with the Demo Congress doesn't produce a substantial HCR bill including a viable public option AND further reduce our Iraq footprint plus make sense out of Afghanistan then he can kiss my ass too. He won't get my vote and he can be a one termer for all I care. Hell, I'll even send money to Hillary if she wants to make a go of it in 2012.
That said, I voted for him for my own reasons and was glad to see him win. As for rehashing 2008 over and over, IMHO, the Clintons seemed to have moved on, but it appears we all can't.

What is moving on Rezdog? There was a debate about which Democratic candidate had the policy winning ideas and the experiance to impliment them. Predictions were made and fears and hopes expressed. The election didn't suddenly invalidate what was said during the primary but time actually judges. We should forget Barnicle or the race card? Why not judge what is happening with Democrats and the country by the very criteria debated during the year Obama and Hillary vied for the nomination. It is easier however to revise and manipulate history, to forget. This of course leads to hypocrisy.
How about this guy? http://slatest.slate.com/id/2229493/entry/4
Or other hypocrisy? Ki-Moon now says that the conditions in Honduras wouldn't make for a fair election. Lord, have you listen to the ex claim special Israeli ops are trying to kill him with radiation? This is who we are supporting? Not a word from Ki-Moon about the fairness of any elections in Iran for the last fifty years.
Investigate Acorn, post the Senate HRC, LISTEN to McChrystal? Hell, at least Netanyahu displayed some gravitas when he spoke. It was the most moving speech delivered and factual. It was an embarrasment to the UN what some said. I just watched Chavez respond to FOX. He thought Obama was great. SO did Gaddafi and Castro. This is NOT what Hillary projected nor did Obama during his pivot to center. But you would want us to forge the recent past. So does Moore. He would forget what defeated communism as he tries to start a witchhunt of capitalism.
To suddenly put last summer in the ancient history section ignores the ongoing struggle of Democrats. Thjis is exactly what was predicted. Yeah, let's smack down Republican indiscretion by gigabites and not recollect the role Edwards played in the course of history. Let's just vote for Hillary now because Obama wasn't left enough. That's wise.

You mean Rachel Maddow, the female anologue to Olberman? I do watch her as my fair and balanced scan.
Tonight she questioned whether "anti-government groups" (her code for RWers, Republicans) even though she admitted the body of the census worker was staged. She then sneaks into a look at local drug dealers and pot farmers (I'm sure they are all Republicans right?). She says they don't like the Fed snooping around and MAYBE they were involved. Then reason would refute her thesis. Maybe the census workers was murdered by drug dealers NOT "anti-government" groups. Did you think this was good journalism. Besides her abnoxious delivert, I think her reasoning rather unfair and biased.
Jamie I watch all the cable so I know the crap coming out of both sides. At least when I have the time, I watch the full spectrum. Yes, Hannity and Beck take a fact and make it their fear. Facts serve as a stage for their rants. The Left side tries to construct their narritive by filtering the facts and spinning the ones that prove useful. Did Maddow play the clip of Chavez refusing to explain his position on the murder of Jews and Iranians? Did Maddow comment on Netanyahu's speech? Did Maddow seek to explain the 130 billion Avantage shortfall, the failure to post the Senate Bill, the deal Obama already made with big pharm?
Maybe you should watch Fox and CNN for a week nstead of Maddow and Olberman.

Tonight she questioned whether "anti-government groups" (her code for RWers, Republicans) mudered the census worker in Clay even though she admitted the body of the census worker was staged.
Sorry for the omission....

I just watched Rachel and that is not what she said.
Once again you twist the facts to push a point. She reported what information was made available and nothing more.
More and more you sound like a Republican impersonating a liberal.
Posted by: anon-paranoid
| September 24, 2009 11:44 PM
What facts did I twist? She said let's explore the question whether antigovernment groups MIGHT have been involved in murder. She then went directly to the connection to drug dealers and pot growers. What did I get wrong? By the placement of the lead idea about anti-government groups followed immediately by the look at drugs she made the association between the two. The GOP isn't exactly associated with growing pot. That is an old trick. In print its placement of stories. This is bad journalism as she never qualified her exploration digressing into criminal drug dealing. Typical of Maddow, but if you find it professional I rest my case.
Of course no one here objected to acorn's suit. This was far more investigative journalism than Maddow who opinionates behind her desk, often appearing to be impressed with herself. Did 60 minutes gets sued for undisclosed cameras? So I guess you would say these two young adults were not being journalists because they went after ACORN, but had they uncovered dirt on WalMart, you all would be cheering.
FOr that I watch too much FOx? I wonder if Craig thinks this was journalism. It was certainly more journalism than the billion dollar media groups ever did to investigate ACORN.
Even tonight, as protesters chant down with Capitalism, the media refuses to make ANY association between this wing and the base Obama rallied. And yet LaRoach suppoters were often associated with Republicans along with Independents and Democrats who prtested. Yep, I listened to a black woman who said she was a Democrat voice her outrage. It is media with filters on and Maddow is another example. I bet she spends some time tomorrow giving airtime to Mondale on race. Bad journalism and not too smart.....
More and more I sound like a Republican? Given your comments last summer Anon, it seems I am moving in a Liberal direction. I was once a definite Necon nazi in your esteemed estimation.....
