I wrote on last thread. Too much bling for the ocassion. The sparklies at the top may be sewn on but would be better for a cocktail party. Looks very overdressed compared to all the other women.
Love the stand out color and she of course is beautiful.
As much as I don't like what Bush has done,,,,,it is the office that should be respected!! just for today that all the world is watching,,,,I hope that he doesn't trip,,,or doesn't find some door that doesn't open,,,,in other words,,,I hope that he doesn't do something stupid either.
You need to go buy a wonderful book called "CROWNS". It is a tribute to the traditions of glorious hats worn to church by black women. It is a high honor that she put on one of her "Crowns" for this event.
Did NOT like that prayer of Rick Warren's -- all that Jesus talk is divisive -- but could we expect anything else from him? Just one little speck of dust on an otherwise beautiful ceremony.
Rick Warren - Barack Obama validated, Approved, Certified and represents not only Barack but the majority of Americans by huge %...
And most likely misunderstood by those with other agenda....

Craig, Cheney's bye-bye is arguably the most significant event of the day - certainly among the most beneficial tot he country. (Of course Aretha and Yo Yo Ma are right up there.)
It has been speculated that Cheney hurt his back while trying to destroy any and all records of his secretive activities during his 8 years as Vice-President of the United States. :)
Jamie -- I know about crowns. (I am a Diva, after all.) But Aretha's crown definitely is one that can only be carried off by a few. She is the Uber-Diva!
According to CNN, even though the oath of office has not yet been administered, Barack Obama is now officially the President of the United States. How will the whiners handle this?
My son called and said the television doesn't show half the size of the crowds...said they are packed into side streets all over that area of the city.
For the first time in my adult life, I have seen the United States take a significant step toward the ideals behind its formation (notwithstanding the contrary original intent of the founders). I am proud.

I think it was a disgrace the way people were clapping and cheering, while Paster Warren was praying. Some people have no class what so ever. And, it didn't look Obama, or his wife knew The Lord's Prayer.
