    Proves nothing. The question still remains -- why does he REFUSE to make public certified hardcopy BCs and other documents? If the HI official is telling the TRUTH, then why doesn't SoetorObama authorize the release of all hardcopy BCs?

    Still serious citizenship questions and the possible use of a name(BHO) for about 30 years that is not his legal name.

  40. Rezdog ---------------

    It proves ZERO !!!

    Make ALL the documents public. That includes hospital records (which hospital -- two have been named) and everything necessary to PROVE that he is Constitutionally qualified. Let's see the certified hardcopy records.

    Do you believe government officials never lie? What cave have you been living in?

    You do understand (was explained several days ago) that a HI birth certificate can be issued to an infant born in another state and even outside the US.

    SoetorObama continues to stonewall. This issue is not going away. If he wins, plans are being formulated to stop him in the Electorial College (heard it discussed tonight on a netcast).
    ------------------------------

    Still, who in the world would you believe? In my mind, nobody!

    So this is all about casting doubt. "You don't want to know the truth."

  42. Rezdog ------------

    "The Director said no doubt he was born IN Hawaii."

    How do we know the Director is telling the TRUTH?

    Why does SoetorObama refuse to release certified hardcopy documents that can be examined by a panel of document specialists?

    Even if he was born in HI, it's very likely he lost his "natural" born status. Problems with Indonesia and Kenya.

    Need to see this:

    "Certified copies of Obama’s Application and Admission forms for Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School"

    What did he list as his nationality? Was it Indonesian or Kenyan?

    What is SoetorObama hidding? Plenty !!!

    1980 was my first vote. I voted for Jimmy Carter on the same day I registered to vote in Minnesota. I was pissed when he lost. I worked as a volunteer in Seattle for Mondale/Ferraro... we won Seattle SIGINIFICANTLY, at least 70% as I recall but still lost KING county. 88 I voted for boring Dukakis and then, of course '92 and '96 for Bill Clinton.. my first ever times to have chosen the winning candidate. Gore 2000, didn't care about Kerry but still voting for him (why are Massachusetts candidates so boring?). and 2008 Barack Obama which I am cautiously hoping will win the election. Oh yeah the first vote... I was not 18 until August 1977, so I just missed the '76 election. I would have voted for Carter then too, but in retrospect, I think Gerald Ford was a true gentleman and if someone of his stature was in the Republican party today I would vote for them (depending on the opposition).

  59. The Ass and the Mule
    A MULETEER set forth on a journey, driving before him an Ass and a Mule, both well laden. The Ass, as long as he traveled along the plain, carried his load with ease, but when he began to ascend the steep path of the mountain, felt his load to be more than he could bear. He entreated his companion to relieve him of a small portion, that he might carry home the rest; but the Mule paid no attention to the request. The Ass shortly afterwards fell down dead under his burden. Not knowing what else to do in so wild a region, the Muleteer placed upon the Mule the load carried by the Ass in addition to his own, and at the top of all placed the hide of the Ass, after he had skinned him. The Mule, groaning beneath his heavy burden, said to himself: "I am treated according to my deserts. If I had only been willing to assist the Ass a little in his need, I should not now be bearing, together with his burden, himself as well."

    On any number of levels we're obligated to support Israel. That obligation was formalized in 1947 by the Truman administration.

    And, in the last fifty years, Israel has been our military proxy in the Middle East. Their blood was shed instead of ours.

    We owe them--big-time.

    pffffft ... they have the money, the military and the ability to protect themselves. Unless we want to make them a colony, we should cut loose and let them pay for themselves... unless there was a serious attack or war. I don't say we have to cut ties; we already have a presence in the Middle East. And the USA can always be supportive. But, as they say in Republican camps, it's time to lift themselves up by the boot straps and take responsibility for themselves... a bit of Repub paraphrasing on personal responsibility.

    I don't hate Israel, even though I don't think they were legitimately given the land they live on when considering what happened to the palestinian peoples who lived there, torn out of their homes and tossed out of the new country.

    ET

    That isn't what happened. All were free to stay. The neighbors told the Palestinians to leave and get out of the way and when Israel was destroyed, they could go home again. It didn't work out that way, so the neighbors didn't really want the Palestinians either because absorbing them would mean the loss of a political weapon against Israel. So they ended up in a no mans land.

    Many Palestinians live within Israel. They have complaints about representation in government and prejudice and whole lot of other items, but they are in their homes unlike those who departed.

    Sturge...that note from Cavett's blog you posted goes right to the heart of one of my pet peeves about McCain and Palin rhetoric: The whole idea that a "maverick" makes a good leader. By definition, a maverick is a lone colt that has ESCAPED FROM THE HERD! What does that have to do with being a leader??? And Palin's convention speech, she used the phrase "we'll be a TEAM of mavericks". Can there be such a thing? Isn't that like saying "a TEAM of loners."??

  94. Curious ... has anyone here read "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid" by Jimmy Carter? I know there was a lot of controversy....

    I am also interested in the works of ilan pappe'

    "Ilan Pappe, born in Haifa in 1954 is currently a Chair in the Department of History, the University of Exeter and a co-director of the Exeter Center for Ethno-Political Studies. He was the academic head and founder of the Institute for Peace studies in Givat Haviva Israel (1992-2000) and the Chair of the Emil Touma Institute for Palestinian Studies in Haifa (2000-2008).

    Pappe is a both a professional historian and a human rights’ activist who believes that commitment and professionalism do not necessarily clash, but rather reinforce each other.

    He wrote extensively on the 1948 Nakbah and is regarded as one of Israel ‘new historians’ who challenged the official Zionist version of events.

    Pappe has also written on the Modern Middle East, multiculturalism and historiography."

    “Occupiers cannot also be liberal”: An interview with Ilan Pappe

    Apostolis Fotiadis, The Electronic Intifada, 21 June 2008

    ATHENS (IPS) - Support for an academic boycott of Israeli universities exposed Ilan Pappe to death threats last year, forced him to resign as senior lecturer of political science at the University of Haifa, and leave the country.

    His argument that the creation of Israel in 1948 was followed by a policy of cleansing Israeli territory of Palestinians, his support to Hamas resistance despite rejecting its political ideology, and the denouncement of Israeli academia for justifying the occupation of Palestine have made him an unwanted person in Israel. But still he remains a firm believer that the only way to improve this reality is by exposing its worst aspects.

    Pappe now teaches history at the University of Exeter in Britain.

    In an interview with Inter Press Service correspondent Apostolis Fotiadis, Pappe discusses the situation in Palestine today, and the Arab-Israeli conflict 60 years after it began. Continue →

    Being Jewish, Mr. Pappe is considered a traitor.

    His latest book:

    "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine"

    "Since the Holocaust, it has been almost impossible to hide large-scale crimes against humanity. In our communicative world few modern catastrophes are concealed from the public eye. And yet, Ilan Pappe unveils, one such crime has been erased from the global public memory: the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in 1948. The pervasive denial of the Nakbah, as Palestinians call the catastrophe that befell them, is still a mystery today. But why is it denied, and by whom?"

    Peggy Noonan: Armchair Juror
    As far as political pundits go, there is no one more vacuous and insubstantial than Peggy Noonan. As I've noted before, her columns read like something she dictated into a tape recorder on her drive to work. Her understanding of the facts is superficial at best, and she invariably supports her strange knee-jerk opinions with arguments that any 12-year old could easily turn back around on her. In fact, Noonan has such a tendency to make these self-destructive arguments that I named an award after her.

    Noonan's latest column is a real masterpiece. It's titled: "They Should Have Killed Him." The "him" she's referring to is Zacharias Moussaoui, who on Wednesday was sentenced to life in prison (and spared the death penalty) for his tangential role in the planning of the 9/11 attacks.

  120. ET

    One thing to consider when speaking of foreign aid is that it really is a tiny part of the US budget unless you are speaking about the costs of an active war as being "foreign aid".

    The majority of the money does not go directly to the country concerned. It stays in the US creating jobs by buying equipment, food, medical supplies etc. that is then shipped to the country in question. Money that actually does go to countries is often bribes to dictators to stay on our side of an argument not funds that benefit the citizens.

    It is that old saying of "Don't take down a fence until you know why it was built".

    The trouble with the U.S. budget is that there is both a great deal of waste on projects that do little more that swell someone's bank account and projects that create jobs where needed but whose project is not needed at all. You would almost have to do a zero based penny by penny analysis of the thing and then throw up your hands in defeat because any correction is likely to be worse that what it replaces.

    I love the scene in "Dave" where he brings in his accounting friend to work all night on the budget to find some necessary money. Nice fantasy and a whole lot of wishful thinking.

But you will never convince me that either of those writers, or Sullivan, have not done damage by swimming with the pack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedman_(unit)
    The term is in reference to a May 16, 2006 article by Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) detailing journalist Thomas Friedman's repeated use[10] of "the next six months" as the period in which, according to Friedman, "we're going to find out...whether a decent outcome is possible" in the Iraq War. As documented by FAIR, Friedman had been making such six-month predictions for a period of two and a half years, on at least fourteen different occasions, starting with a column in the November 30, 2003 edition of The New York Times, in which he stated: "The next six months in Iraq—which will determine the prospects for democracy-building there—are the most important six months in U.S. foreign policy in a long, long time."[11]

  172. Craig, just read this on aol news -- I have no idea whether it is valid but figured since you'd just mentioned Facebook...

    Facebook Virus

    We know you may love those funny videos your friends send to you on Facebook, but you may have to forgo clicking on any links from friends in the near future. That's because a Trojan horse that purports to be a legitimate e-mail from a Facebook friend actually contains W32.Koobface worm, which looks for a cookie on your computer that enables it to take over your Facebook account and send itself to all your friends! Here's what to watch out for: E-mails that have flattering subject lines about who a hot crush someone has on you, or how great you look in some video.

    The e-mail itself will have a link to a YouTube like link that leads you to a fake YouTube page. On that page, you're asked to download a video player upgrade. Whatever you do, don't download and install that upgrade, or your machine will be infected. But before you even get to that point, you might just double-check with your friends who like to send videos to make sure what they've sent is legit. It may take the fun out of video sharing, but better safe than sorry!

    Gallup's 2 sets of polls have merged, that is the old model & the new model are now showing the same numbers. Josh at TMP thinks this is due to Gallup polling people who have already voted. As they feed into the survey the numbers begin to match. The Rasmussen poll I linked earlier bares this out .

  183. right...and Alaskans mailed back the $1200 that Palin sent them when she shared the wealth, is that it? Of course , she let some valuable issues go unfunded in Alaska, some dealing with child care, so she could invoke the socialist giveaway. Repuggs wave signs "SPREAD DREAMS NOT WEALTH"...I saw them myself. But Palin dispersed cold cash, now didn't she.
    Keep your Puffs and tune into reality...McCain is about to be consigned to the dustbin of history.
    Of course I realize you are probably making over $300,000 a year, or you could not possibly be for McCain, right? McCain is just more of the same, and we can't stand that.

    If it weren't for the United States military,
    there'd be NO United States of America.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The Honorable Michael B. Mukasey
    Attorney General of the United States
    Washington, DC 20530-0001
    Dear Mr. Attorney General,
    This is an Official Request for an Investigation to confirm, through an official vetting process, that Barack H. Obama, the Democrat Party Candidate, meets the stated requirements found in the United States Constitution to serve as President of the United States of America.
    Did you know that no Election Officials, nor anyone else in some States, nor as far as I can determine, not in the United States Government, requires validation of a Presidential Candidate's qualifications? No one verifies that Presidential Candidates meet Constitutional requirements? There is No official agency, or any independent official element, no watch dog organization charged with vetting Presidential Candidates and reporting their findings to the American people?
    Apparently all that's required to put a name on a ballot to run for President of the United States is some Political Party official to simply notify State Elections officials? Most States simply take the word of the political machine, or Political Party, stating that Barack Obama is qualified. No Birth Certificate is required. Has anyone seen Obama's official Birth Certificate? Even lawsuits can't dislodge a valid, Certified Copy. Why not? Don't you, Sir, believe it reasonable a Presidential Candidate should confirm his or her qualifications? What is Sen. Barack H. Obama hiding?
    Mr. Attorney General, we are without checks and balances in America if a political party could nominate Mickey Mouse and it would appear on the ballot based on info below from Florida.
    From Florida:
    Thank you for inquiring about the determination of a candidate’s eligibility to run for President of United States. The Florida Department of State does not have investigative or enforcement authority to ensure that major parties’ Presidential candidates are properly qualified to be President of the United States. The U.S. Constitution establishes the qualifying requirements for President. Under Florida law, the way in which a major party’s candidate is placed on the ballot is that the state executive committee of each political party submits its slate of presidential electors for its candidate before September 1st of each presidential election year; then, by law, the names of candidates are printed on the ballot. Those candidates are not required to provide any documents to the State that they meet the qualifications for office.
    The Florida Secretary of State performs only a ministerial function. So, the Secretary has no authority or responsibility to look beyond the filing documents to determine if a candidate is eligible. If a candidate (or the party in the case of a major political party nominating someone as a Presidential candidate) files the necessary paperwork, which papers are complete on their face, the Secretary must qualify the candidate.
    Any challenge to the qualifications of a U.S. Presidential candidate should be made in a court of competent jurisdiction (such as what has occurred in federal court in Pennsylvania regarding Senator Obama). The Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., may also be a resource for information or inquiry on this matter. Contact information for the Department of Justice is: AskDOJ@usdoj.gov.; phone: 202-514-2000; and U.S. Department of Justice, 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Washington, DC 20530-0001.
    Anselm, when I moved to the Netherlands in 1998, it was far easier to do then than now. Post 9/11 there is far more scrutiny that than in the past, and it costs a lot more to be a resident. Since I was in a relationship with a Dutch citizen, it went pretty easy for me. These days you would have to study the language in advance of moving and pay a rather high fee to seek residency (and it's not even all that easy anymore to have "family reunification" in Europe as there is a "cultural battle" going on between Europeans and "allochtonen" (which usually means "Moroccans", "Turks", "Arabs" etc. ) wherein the alloctonen try to have their families and extended families relocated to Europe.
    If you want more information on the changes in the Dutch law, you might find http://www.expatica.com useful or the Dutch Embassy in Washington DC. I do know that if you have a legitimate reason to move, a job as an ex-pat, or a self-employed business person, there are ways for you to move using that route. None of these suggestions are easy anymore.
    And yes, I am a legal resident in Europe, though I currently only hold American citizenship.
Because Jan 09, this man is going to tax you right into the poor house. I have 10 more years, before I can retire, and I have worked long and hard, to save what money I have. I will be damned if I am going to give it to people, who seem to have no desire to work for a living. Obama, spent over 3 million dollars the other night, to say nothing more, than what he has been saying for 21 months. If he is so concerned about people in the so called middle class, Why didn't he just take that money, and help people get jobs, or save their homes? Then he would have been a man of his word. No he just wants everybody else to spread the wealth around. Who's Obamna, really taxing? White People, and maybe some Blacks, like myself, who have managed to save for my old age.     All of that money that is spent by the candidates isn't just burned for smoke signals.
    Halls and stadiums are rented
    products are manufactured and sold
    entertainment is hired
    commercials are booked in all media
    cleaning crews are hired
    food and beverages are supplied
    Staff is hired all over the nation many of them at the level of secretaries and clerks
    Election years are often the make or break profit margins for many many businesses and they will work for anyone Republican or Democrat.
    For all the talk of the masses of money raised, when all is said and done they spend less than $2.00 per voter.
I am also an American, Hrc, was my first pick, but The DNC, took it upon themselves to tell me who I should vote for. My heart, is not filled with hatred. My mind is filled with worry. Biden made remarks about Obama, "NOT BEING READY.", now he is telling us "OBAMA WILL BE TESTED IN A CRISIS." and he also said "WE WON'T AGREE WITH OBAMA'S DECISION." Now I don't know if that doesn't worry you, but it worries the HELL out of me. I have been calles all kinds of racist names, by blacks, because Obama, is not my choice,but what really hurts the most is that I'm Black, but it doesn't matter to them, what matters is that he is Black, and according to them I owe him my vote. So If I sound like I'm angry then yes I am.
    I adore Biden but he has a severe case of Senate speak. You get to guess what he really, really meant to say by the context of where and when he said it.
    Virtually every single President who has entered office has been tested in some way by some unexpected crisis. If and when that happens to Obama and in all likelihood it will, he will have a magnificent group of people around him. He has proven repeatedly that he knows how to listen and take counsel from others.
    I have enormous respect for Hillary and Bill Clinton. If they say this man will have what it takes to be a good president, then I believe them. Biden is one of the best foreign policy people in government as is Bill Clinton. Hillary Clinton is one of the best on domestic matters.
    If this country has survived (barely) eight years of George Bush and his crowds of cronies and crooks, a President Obama will be a major improvement. I'm not willing to put the U.S. in the hands of a hot tempered, jingoistic war hawk like Cheney and a Veep with no understanding of the world or the Federal government.
    He may not be perfect, but Barack Obama is the best we have and let us hope he becomes the best possible President when it is needed because it will be needed.
    Posted by: chloe Author Profile Page | November 1, 2008 8:41 PM
  304. Well, I guess I'm just going to give you all further reason to dislike me, but I don't see Lampe's voice as being filled with hatred. I think she is angry, just as most of us here are angry at Bush and all his group have done to us. I haven't noticed her calling herself a black American - she has described herself as black and a woman. I really don't think she's afraid - what is she afraid of? She admits to being worried, and we will be worried, too, if McCain wins.
    At first Lampe didn't make her arguments re the economics of it all, and I was surprised when she added that to her comments, but I wasn't irritated. She's by no means the only person here to say those same things.
    I don't agree with her but I am very interested in what she is saying. I've seen people interviewed who have been threatened for being black and not voting for Obama. What a nice situation - now people think they can tell by looking whom you'll vote for. That's how some used to tell who was a slave. Two hundred years ago, if your skin was black that meant you were a slave. Today if your skin is black you're probably going to vote for Obama, and certainly should.
    Reverend Wright's vitriol upset me because I had never heard of black liberation theology. Now there is hatred. I wondered at the time if all blacks felt that way and it bothered me to think they might. I'm relieved to hear from yet another one black citizen who hasn't felt obligated to vote for someone she doesn't like.
    As I said, I don't agree with her at all, but I think she is strong and sincere and speaks from a position which not one of us can claim.
    I also said I realize that somehow I manage to piss off most of you, and this will just give you more fodder so indulge yourselves. Enjoy the feast. It won't stop me defending a newbie who hasn't been welcomed very fairly or anyone else who might piss you off.
    Lampe - I hope you hang around whether you agree with me or not - so far you have not called anyone names or belittled us.
  308. "I had never heard of black liberation theology. Now there is hatred"
    Bethyboo,
    Just one comment. All of Rev Wright's sermons were made available on tape. He has been a Preacher for more than 20 years. I don't agree with a large part of his philosophy though I try to understand it. After pouring over hours and hours and hours of tapes, the Republicans found one sentence in one sermon that they didn't even know if Obama had heard that they could pull out and repeat endlessly in commercials and videos.
    If someone recorded 20 years of your public statements, do you suppose they just might be able to find one sentence they could pull out and paint you as something horrid?
    As to Lampe. I hope she sticks around as well. I'm just very surprised that someone who ardently backed Hillary Clinton could turn their back on everything she believed and supported in favor of someone who opposed everything she believed. It just didn't make any sense.
  323. I supported HRC, because I believed in her, and I thought wouldn't it be great, if we could finally let a woman, enter into the All Boy's Club. I feel that The DNC, has pulled a fast one on Blacks, and Dems alike. The DNC, had to pick a candidate, they knew, would pull in the most votes. So they picked Obama, because they knew, if they got him nominated, Black's would vote for him no matter what. This is what has made me so angry. I have been a Dem, for 37 years, I went door to door, getting Dems elected. I feel as alot of HRC supporters do, we were told who we had to vote for, like it or not. Now, if I really felt like Obama, was ready to be POTUS, I would be very happy to vote for him. But, I just don't think now is his time. What The DNC, failed to realize, is that had they worked as hard to get HRC,elected, they could have had The White House for 16 years. 8 Clinton followed by 8 Obama. Obama, scares me, when he says he wants to take, what people have worked long and hard for, and tax them at higher rates. I am not a stupid women, I am all for change and hope, but in order to achieve those things, everything must be fair and equal. You can not punish someone with higher taxes, simply because they have managed to do things with their lives, any more then you can punish some for not making anything out of their lives.
  330. Bethy
    Reading what you think Wright was preaching tells me that you haven't read any of his writings or listened to any of his sermons. I could be wrong, but it sounds as if you are repeating what someone else told you he was preaching.
    When wave after wave of immigrants came to this country, they lived together, supported each other, made investments in each other. Whether it was Irish, Germans, Poles, Jews, Russians, hispanics and Lations and now various groups of asians.
    The only group that didn't really do this was the one that had been brought here against their will, with the majority living in slavery for almost 300 years and then in second class citizenship, had their family structure destroyed, and were consigned to ghettos where almost all of the business and power structure were of another race. At the core of Black Liberation Theology is the precept that they do what all other immigrant groups have done: help themselves.
    Anyway I can understand WRight. FAther Pfleger is another matter. That one I haven't figured out yet.
    Now you mention working hard. 2/3 or more of all wealth is inherited. There is no "working" about it unless you mean working with what you got for free.
    The top 1% of the US population has over 40% of the wealth (more than the total income of the combined 95% of the population
    Until 1960 they paid 90% of their in come in Fed Taxes. This was dropped into the 60% range. Reagan took it down to 39%. Bush took it to 33%. I don't think Obama wanting to go back to Reagan levels is exactly rampant Socialism
  338. The philosophy that the rich pay more taxes is not the Democrat's.
    Both parties believe in it. The progressive tax system was started by Teddy Roosevelt. McCain's hero.
    So the debate is not whether we tax the rich more - but it is by how much. Obama wants to go back to the rates of the Clinton years. That would entail rolling back the Bush tax cuts - which McCain opposed and called irresponsible when they were first announced.
And in 2003, McCain voted against legislation to accelerate the tax reductions enacted in the 2001 bill and to cut taxes on dividends and capital gains."
And I'm really sorry that I don't sound angry enough, or Black enough for all of you. I am what God made me, just because I tend to carry myself different from others, does not make me any less Black. I have worked long and hard, not to be put into a class simply because of the color of my skin. But, believe me if I need to be, I can be just as angry and nasty, as anyone else.   354. There is a ritual in Presidential campaigns that goes widely unnoticed by both the press and the public. Late in the night on the Saturday prior to a Presidential election (or the following Sunday morning, depending on the candidate's schedule), the candidate and his/her national campaign leadership team meet with the campaign's polling team to learn the fate of the election.
    This ritual, beginning in the late 1970s, crosses party lines and is one of the most sacred in all of research. The polling team assembles with the campaign staff and awaits the arrival of the candidate. When the candidate enters the room, all rise until motioned to seat down by the candidate.
    The head pollster then utters one of two phrases:
    "Senator ___, the data suggests that you will not be elected the next President of the United States," or
    "Senator ___, the data suggests that you will be elected the next President of the United States."
    All I can go by is what I was told. I haven't heard the whole sermon, but he meant it in the same way that the Old Testament prophets would curse a leader who had strayed from the teachings of God.
    He wasn't calling for the destruction of America but rather saying that our actions in the world that had caused this hatred and it was for America to correct and improve itself to be better. It was a call to repentence.
    As I understand but since I haven't heard it, I can't say for sure there was also a great deal of sympathy for those who had lost their lives and the families that were suffering, and the one sentence was pulled out of that.
  364. I think this race, is going to be alot tighter than they think. I also think we are not going to know right away who the winner is. It is going to be a replay of Florida, with voter fraud being the thing that holds up this race.
  367. Solar Crete. I don't know if this is Sheila's Mango Salsa because I didn't write where I got it.
    Plum/Mango Salsa
    5 Plums (2 peeled)
    1 Mango (peeled)
    1 Cucumber
    1 Red Onion
    8 Jalapeno Peppers
    1 Hot Hatch Pepper
    1 Green Bell Pepper
    1 Orange Bell Pepper
    2 Habanero Peppers (1 red and 1 yellow)
    1/8 Cup Chives
    1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
    1/4 Cup Cilantro
    4 TBSP Sontava! Habanero XXX Hot Sauce
    4 TBSP Coyote Cocina Tequila Habanero Grill Sauce
    2 TBSP Sugar
    2 TSP Salt
    1 TSP Minced Ginger Root
    2 Minced Garlic cloves
    Directions: Just throw the sliced cucumber, peppers, onion, chives, garlic, ginger root, and cilantro into a large food processor and blast it into a chunky goop, then pour into a large container. Cut the pits out of the plum and mango and remove skins. Place the meat of the fruit into the food processor with the rest of the ingredients and lightly chop until chunky.
    Pour into the large container and mix well. Refrigerate for 1-2 days, occasionally stirring to let the ingredients marinate, and serve.
    If you’re afraid that it will be too hot, remove the Hatch pepper and one of the Habanero peppers. The recipe could probably also do without the two hot sauces and still taste great. If you have a mild chipotle or favorite barbeque sauce, you could use it instead of the Coyote Cocina Tequila Habanero Grill Sauce
    I can't wait to try it!
  376. Solar
    I enjoyed the conversations. We used to have lots of discussions like those around here before the election. It's kind of nice when everyone is feeling chatty and tossing their two cents in.
    Just learned a new historical fact. I knew George Washington was considered one of the best if not the best horsement in the country , that he was a great dancer, loved to gamble, and was the largest whiskey distiller in the colonies, but I didn't know the name of his favorite horse: Nelson
  377. Here's a possible scenario:
    Wonder why Bill & Hill have been campaigning for SoetorObama?
    They want him to win because they know the TRUTH -- he is not Constitutionally eligible for POTUS and have the evidence to prove it. Before the Electoral College meets on Dec 15, the Clintons get that info out through a friendly media contact. The electors cannot vote for SoetorObama, so they cast their votes for Hillary. She received about 18 million votes, Biden around 10,000 (Fox News) in the primaries.
    Well Jamie im looking forward to the future historical conversations,,,,when ever i get confused about something, which is often, i do rely on history for the real answer------I used one of your facts while talking to friend, that said that his father would never have voted for Obama cos he was blk------i told him that we already had 3 blk presidents----he was a little shaken by this fact, laughed and said his father is spinning in his grave,,thanks
    This old trucker I knew in a former life....Mark, the trucker.....he was hauling a trailer full of South American penguins from the wharf at NYC to the zoo in Cleveland......he got a a good start and was on the outskirts of Old Cleve at around 1:30 pm and figgers, what the hell, I gotta get 'em there by 5 so I got time for a beer or two, then I'll take the pengs and get some sleep and head back. So he pulls into the truck stop with the bar next door and gets himself a pitcher or two and then three and finally looks at the clock...............it's 4:30........He's wasted......he lamps the only other OTR trucker in the joint and says, "Look....I'm gonna lose my job......I'll give you a C-note to use my rig and take them penguins to the zoo for me" ......the other guy's not so blitzed so he figgers what the hell and takes off with the penguins in back.
    6 hours later......... my friend Mark has drunk hisself sober and he's out in the parking lot running across it sometimes diagonally and sometimes around the perimeter---chewing on his logbook.....back and forth, up and down---Where's my RIG??
    About 2130 (9:30pm) he sees his rig coming down the frontage road and then pulling into the lot......The Penguins Are Still in the trailer.
    All the penguins are still in the trailer.
    He tears the door open on the cab and screams at the guy......."I gave you a hunnered dollars to take these goddamned penguins down to the goddamn zoo.....how hard IS that? A Hundred DOLLARS! To take 'em to the ZOO!"
    The guy screams back, "I TOOK 'em to the zoo........we had so much fun, I took 'em to the movies!"
  381. Hi All
    Just heard that the speech Obama is giving in Springfield Missouri is packed. The line to get in reached more than 2 miles on foot. The local nbc news ( obviously biased for republicans -----consider the area) refused to estimate the number of people. That is huge for anything democratic in this area. I'll bet the republicans are flipping out!!!
  385. Tiptoe
    It is sorted by the number predicted for Obama lowest to highest + the fan in bleachers.
    I think the TV anchors will probably give us numbers. They might not come right out and say "and the winner is Tip Toe!", so I figured the number would be faster.
    "Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said Friday she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate."
    "... holds Obama's original birth certificate."
    As I've tried to point out, a HI BC can be issued to an infant not born in the US -- it's a fact. There may be an original BC, but notice there is no quote saying he was born in HI. That was from an AP writer.
    "Annenburg's people have seen and touched and photographed the document ..."
    Annenberg like in Chicago Annenburg Challenge. What a coincidence !!!
    ============
    UPDATE: FactCheck's photos of Obama's paper birth certificate proves, once and for all, that their image of it was a forgery!
    "From the high-res photos that FactCheck provided, I was able to confirm a number of my findings that exposed the FactCheck COLB image as a manufactured forgery. To get everyone up to speed, there has been one, and only one forged image. From this one source image, several copies were generated. One was kept by the Obama campaign while one copy went to the Daily Kos, and the other went to FactCheck. Both the Daily Kos and the Obama campaign cropped their images before posting them on June 12. The Obama Campaign posted a very small, low-res copy to their "Fight the Smears" website, while the Daily Kos image was cropped close to the borders but left in its original size. FactCheck posted their uncropped image to their website four days later on June 16."
