Craig, why don't you come down here and help Stinky with the yard while l work on one of the trucks? We'll even feed you dinner and get out some of the best wine. And, then, before you leave in the morning, I'll hold the ladder while you clean the gutters.
I don't understand why KO thought the Elton John remark was that big of a deal. Why was he discussing Elton John anyway? No new Britney Spears incidents? Of course , I never understood all the uproar about what Natalie Maines said either. In other news , police have finally arrested the marine who was suspected of killing the pregnant marine a few months ago.
I woke up to having 3 big beautiful wild turkeys in my front yard.....
I too thought of the "political theme"..... and was going to name them Hillary, Barack, and John..... but turkeys in their natural state are not only beautiful... they're also elegant......
I live in the southeast, where 2007 saw the worst drought conditions in a century. Everything was dead and dried out. That's the best analogy I can think of to how us Dems have felt living through 8 years of Bush and co.
Craig - That was wonderfully insightful & funny. My laughter took the edge off of my worry at the sight of you wielding those hedge clippers. Make sure you put the safety back on. It's getting awfully close to the WH correspondents dinner & I get a little nervous for you this time of year. How is that shoulder anyway?
Did you guys see the 3 candidates bits on "American Idol Gives Back"? In order of appearance: Hil'ry did the best of the three.
Then came McCain, the GOP sorbet between the Dem candidates, who bookended his bit with awful humor. His only purpose, as I could tell, was to make the person who went before him seem even stronger & to make the person who followed him, Obama, seem good in comparison.
On its own, Obama's appearance was pretty lackluster.
I guess McCain needed a laughtrack & Obama needed a live audience. Hil'ry was fine "as is."
My Friends:
(ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)
We have to win this war
(ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)
Democrat surrender monkeys
(ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)
and now.....here's Lindsay Graham:
( ha ha ha ha scream ha ha ha snort ha ha ha)
oh.... and Craig....
you know that you and I share the fact that "Being There" is our favorite movie....
I've said it before...... but it needs to be said again.....
Peter Sellers is a god!.....
Blue..... yes... McCain's attempt at humor on AI was awful.....
I agree.... Hillary was best....
Patsi...thanks for the link...that was a good article...I particularly thought this was something we here know a lot about.
"It was particularly sad to see a number of Obama supporters (though not the Obama campaign itself) join enthusiastically in the catcalls against Mrs. Clinton’s good-faith effort to put a human face on the cruelty and injustice of the American health care system."
The last paragraph was also very good and I think many made a similar argument when the essence of the story was in question. It's about Universal Health Care for all so that things like this don't happen.
Does anyone think, as I do, that Elizabeth Edwards is out and about doing an endorsement/non-endorsement of Hillary Clinton.
Her language seems very endorsement like...w/o making a real endorsement. Hillary has a better health care plan. Hillary should take it to the convention. This is good for the party. She think Hillary and O' should be on the same ticket. Aren't these all Clinton campaign surrogate talking points?
I have 2 theories. 1) She's endorsing Hillary indirectly or 2) she's building the case for why they will endorse Hillary when the time comes so it's not such a shocker since everyone assumed the Edwards' would be more inclined to endorse Obama.
Hey Max...I read them before I went to bed. The 2 kinds of Indies?
Yes...I think you may have a point there about the 2 kinds of Indies. I think I'm going Indie after all this is over no matter what happens. Dem party is crazy. Of course...it remains to be seen which kind of Indie I'll be.
I thought Barr made a good point about running as a Libertarian on HC last night. He knows he's not going to win and even when Hannity screamed at him about it....he said it's about opening it up to more choices and getting rid of the two party system. I'm all for that. It might seem like this is some far off possibility but with the way one can get their message out over the Internet and raise money...it might not be that far fetched.
ABC fails to point out some added details of the Ayer/Obama story such as the fund raiser Ayers had for Obama or their serving together on the board at Woods Fund. And after Ayers comments to the NYT one would think Obama would be careful about this "good friendship". Do I sense some arrogance when dealing with the litany of associations?
Yeah, I saw that too. Hannity need prunning too, but I thought Barr had a point. I suspect Obama might pick Bloomie to try and win back some Indies. Now remember to put you veil on........
According to the principles of sustainable landscaping, “weeds” are actually hardy native species that ought to be occupying those niches. “Gardeners" introduce fragile, non-native purely decorative plants, and maintain them with synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. This totally disrupts the indigenous ecosystem.
Craig's garden is a metaphor for the U.S. in Iraq.
Craig, what a wonderful metafora as they say in Italian. Do more of those because they get your points across about each candidate very effectively, in my opinion. It is so true that a picture is worth a thousand words!
"I'd urge people who are minimizing the sexism Clinton faces, or who are trying to argue that racism against Obama has been just as public and disabling, to make a YouTube video that's comparable to this, and that features media stars -- not Clinton surrogates, not Obama critics, but guys paid by major news networks -- using comparable slurs against Obama. Maybe it's possible. I doubt it, but maybe. If anyone succeeds, I promise I'll post it here!"
Yes...how true...go for it...the clips don't exist.
Once again - I'll have to watch the vid tonight. From your comments, it sounds like Peter Sellers would be proud of Craig. See, I've come up with another approach to pruning - at least pruning tulips - plant the bulbs and the deer will eat the foliage.
Wendy!, Barr is pissing Hannity off because he could be the fly in the Georgia ointment - and warren - this could actually be what makes your prediction about Georgia being in play have some merit - without Barr in the race, not so much.
And yes, Wendy!, Elizabeth Edwards is definitely either suggesting or foreshadowing an endorsement - question is whether it is only hers or hers and John's. They are smart enough to at this point wait until the fat lady is warming up her vocal chords to formally endorse either candidate, if they do so at all.
TZ: I mean the Obama clips. Lord knows the Hillary clips exist. i've seen that Mad as Hell video...seems like it's starting to go viral. Tapper linked to it from his blog as well.
It won't see the light of day since it doesn't bow and scrape before the shrine that is Olbermann, but I had fun blasting him for the Elton John Bronze last night.
Blue reminded me that the dinner is almost upon us. First the collar bone and then the ankle. You are somewhat accident prone and don't have too many undamaged appendages left. Should we have an ambulance escort you too and from the event?
Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama
"CHICAGO -- It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York.
A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.
...I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation -- a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table," but around "this entire world."
...the warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor's going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say.
Their belief is not drawn from Obama's speeches or campaign literature, but from comments that some say Obama made in private and from his association with the Palestinian American community in his hometown of Chicago, including his presence at events where anger at Israeli and U.S. Middle East policy was freely expressed."
Clinton's latest spin is that people who oppose her are just "sexist." Why else would any Democrat oppose her?
How about her six years on Wal-Mart's board of directors?
*****
It was during those six years that Clinton served with the notoriously anti-union Rose Law firm in Little Rock, defending Wal-Mart against workers who tried to unionize. It was also during those six years that Clinton served with fellow board member John Tate, whose favorite saying was: "Labor unions are nothing but blood-sucking parasites living off the productive labor of people who work for a living."
I see that no one is concerned about the War Crimes committed by this current administration and have not let there representatives know that they need to take appropriate steps to start the process of holding them responsible through impeachment hearings.
"In dozens of top-secret talks and meetings in the White House, the most senior Bush administration officials discussed and approved specific details of how high-value al Qaeda suspects would be interrogated by the Central Intelligence Agency, sources tell ABC News."
Also when will the International Community step up to the plate and uphold their obligations under International Law and the Geneva Conventions.
None of them should be allowed to set foot in any Country that are signatories to the Conventions without being arrested and tried for their War Crimes.
But then over half the country think Torture is okay and see no problem with us being a Country that Commits Acts of Torture and other War Crimes.
Maybe after all the Reverend Wright is correct and God has Damned America.
well our long national nightmare is over and i've ended my boycott of my own blog. just read yesterday's thread and much appreciate the improved decorum. thanks to do those who made an effort (btw, MaxTrue, i was NOT asking anyone to leave other than myself).
i realize that debating the finer points of the Monroe Doctrine is not sexy or anything, but i enjoyed reading all of your thoughts
and yes, blue and jamie, the big dinner is coming april 26. maybe i'll wear my various orhopod equipment (arm sling and ankle boot) for better protection
oh and thanks for your comments on the video (told you i was off to do yard work yesterday). again, it sure helps to have a creative producer -- thanks Andrew!
Wal-Mart is notorious for denying promotions to women, and paying women lower salaries than men doing the same job. (After all, men have to support a family.)
Wal-Mart's clothing comes from Asian sweat shops were teenaged girls work 16 hour days, for about $2.00 a day. Sexual abuse by male supervisors is common.
Wal-mart is also notoriously racist, denying promotions to minorities, but I don't suppose that the "feminists for Hillary" care about that either.
Sen. Obama sees no hypocrisy in his wife's post at a firm that does business with Wal-Mart
"Barack Obama made national headlines last month when he loudly enlisted in the campaign to get Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to treat its workers better.
Which raises a question — not about corporate values but about Mr. Obama's values. Specifically, while Mr. Obama bashes Wal-Mart, why does his wife, Michelle, make $45,000 a year serving on the board of a Chicago-area company that pays its executives a very hefty amount of money while laying off mostly minority workers in an economically deprived area, a company whose No. 1 customer is — you guessed it — Wal-Mart? "
Renee: Obama's wife serving on the board of a company that sells products to Wal-Mart is not even close to being the same as serving on the board of Wal-Mart.
In any case, you are ducking the issue. If Hillary is such a feminist icon, why did she serve for six years on Wal-Mart's board? During those six years hundreds of thousands of female Wal-Mart employees were discriminated against. It wasn't an accicident; it was corporate policy. That's what the board does; it sets policy.
No Nash. It isn't the criticism. It is the constant drum beat of Hillary, bad bad bad; Barack good good good.
No politician is all good or all bad. You can't get to where they are in the political pecking order without a whole lot of things to view with alarm and point with pride. The Clinton supporters just get more than a little tired to the Golden Man or Hope, Change, and Vision who has just as many faults and questionable associations as the past middle aged angry bitch running against him.
Off to purchase my own Black & Decker Alligator Loppers for some serious pruning of dog's garden. And it is a stretch to apply "garden" to this situation! Woodland detritus, maybe.
From Wal-Mart. (Horrors, I know. But they're nearest purveyor; Home Depot no longer carries the lopper and I will not settle for less. If it's a chain saw relative, I want a known manufacturer.)
Jamie: That NYT piece on Hillary & Wal-Mart alleges that she tried to be a progressive force on Wal-Mart's board. How do they know that? Because that's what Hillary and her friends say. (And they wouldn't lie.)
Nice spin, but the fact is that Wal-Mart was, and still is, the most notorious racist, sexist, and virulently anti-union corporation in the USA.
Clinton had NO, repeat, NO impact on their policies, but she was well-paid for her board membership.
Craig: I was hoping you might be having better luck with Plumbago, cities often being warmer with reflected heat off brick and sidewalks! It's a beautiful plant; was thinking you tried it to remind you of your boyhood home.
I shall be happy if I don't kill a hydrangea this year. (Planting the damn thing instead of forgetting it in its little pot might help there.) Have been coveting big fluffy hydrangea flowers for 2 years now.
Used to want to sneak about at night in Richmond with scissors and rustle a few from my neighbors' long established plants.
Yes Nash we know. She couldn't have possibly tried to make any changes in their policies. After all she is that Witch of the Western World named Hillary Clinton.
That testimony did not come from Hillary. It came from the people who worked with her on The Children's Defense Fund. The article mentions that she wasn't as effective as she hoped to be, and yes it does mention her salary. But go ahead, only point out the negatives. We wouldn't want to risk any Obama supporter actually admitting that just maybe she had accomplished anything worth doing in her 60+ years of existence.
Jamie is growing hyperbole in her garden this morning. (Hint: one's reservations about Hillary Clinton are not all explained away by misogyny. Any more than any about Obama are entirely products of racism.)
I'd be one of the last to endorse any sexist practices at WalMart - and I do not support their approach to purchasing or their control of their supply chain vendors. But one thing I can tell you from personal experience is that working for a client of your law firm is something you do or you get thehell out. I don't tar Michelle Obama for her ties (albeit less direct than Hillary's) to WM any more than I tar Hillary for hers. Both of them have severed those ties - in Hillary's case that occurred 16 years ago, about the time Sam Walton - who is probably alternately cheering and rolling over in his grave over WalMart's current growth, sexist reputation and pipeline to China. Michelle severed her ties to TreeHouse Foods last year.
The NYT did an article on Hillary's WalMart years last May. It's linked below.
I believe a fair reading of the Times article is that while on Walmart's board, Hillary picked the areas she thought she could improve (specifically women in management and environmentally sensitive issues), moved the company some in those areas, but not as much as she would have liked, and left alone those areas that she felt she could not change but that the effort to do so would lessen whatever power the youngest and only female board member of the corporation had to effect some change in the company. And while Walmart was certainly not the best of corporate citizens while Hillary was on the board and the problems that would come to light later were undoubtedly occuring while she was on the board, it bears noting that Walmart's most rapid period of growth and the exposes of the problems with Walmart's Asia connection occurred in the mid 90s to early 2000s, after Sam Walton died and after Hillary was off the board.
Hopefully the end of the Primary will liven the place up and press people's happy buttons too.
Have a great day Ya'll!
Posted by: Chef Sheila Hussein The Nun | April 11, 2008 6:10 AM
Sheila do you think that will really happen? I wasn't here before the whole primary season began, but I've read it was a nicer place then. But... will people who have gone back and forth at each other really see the possibilities of being friends again? I know that politicians often put aside differences for their own common good, i.e., John F. Kennedy choosing Lyndon Johnson as his running mate. But the rest of the political junkies like us? I don't know...
I thought Craig was really clever today... and I loved the weeds analogy, though I'd say the worst of all would be the money grubbing, greedy, political advisors and handlers.
If you could not be at the Protest Campaign against Media bias and in support of Hillary and The Michigan and Florida voters, you are asked to please write to

heheheh, I will never forget Shirley McClaine in that scene... even if I found it all a bit bewildering!

Rules? We have rules? Do you mean the link limit? If so, anyone can post two links per comment (our spam filter holds comments with 3 or more, an unfortunate necessity to keep the porn merchants away)
all of this plant talk has me thinking it would be fun to make a video of yours sometime. send me your favorite plant photo (preferably with you in it) and we'll slap together a nice little montage, our own salute to spring
Maybe after all the Reverend Wright is correct and God has Damned America.
Posted by: anon-paranoid | April 11, 2008 9:56 AM
Anon, he did say that God HAS damned America. He said "I SAY GAHHHD DAMMMMMMM America!". In other words, he was doing the 'damning' or you could perhaps interpret it to mean that he was calling ON God to "damn" America.
Either way, it's a pretty negative judgment call. I do think if Wright would have said something like "if we do not address what we've done around that world, then we live in a tenuous situation where our God could end up DAMNing America..." That would have gotten the point across without him calling on God to do it...
While posting links to Taylor Marsh will get you confused with Gordo, I don't see any problem with posting public addresses to news organizations.
Private or personal information would be another story, IMNSHO(in my not so humble opinion)

ET - I'm just one person who has been here for a long while and my perspective is only my own, but I can say without reservation that the past 3 or so months have been unlike anything that has ever occured here. The norm before was Dems or Libs versus Reps or Conservatives (who were much fewer in number than the lib/dems), issues were discused pretty regularly as they arose in the media or as a result of Craig's posts, and the rancor was WAAAAYYYY less than what you see here now day in and day out. I suspect that when the nomination fight is done and there is a broader unifying theme at play in the form of inter reather than intra party argument, things will settle down again, and all the world - or at least our little corner of it - will return to a state of sweetness and light.
Craig, good to see you back. Once again, thank you for letting me use your bandwidth to vet my frustrations. I suggest everyone read Willianm Swann's new book about the marginalized Centerfield
I am sure if you drop in and post to William directly, Craig, he would be happy to send you a book for free.
I see Gordo had a Khalidi watch post and before it gets blasted, let me add that Rashid is very vocal about his support of Hamas. He worked with the PLO when they were conducting terror operations. I posted weeks ago the pro-Hamas article that appeared in the Trinity newsletter. Now we all know about Zbig and Carter's inclination for Obama. We also know that AAAN, Khalidi's group that Obama funded at Woods Fund, collaborates with CAIRS, another pro-Hamas group. So how disingenuous is it that after FOX blasted the newsletter and pointed to Carter's trip to Syria to talk to the terrorist leader of Hamas, that Obama suddenly declares he will not talk to Hamas until they renounce violence and accept the existence of Israel? Of course he has made no such flip-flop over Ahmadinejad who does not renounce such violence. Hillary does not have this problem. She is quite conistent on her position toward terror, Israel and the need for the US to keep pressure on Iran and even create no-fly zones to thwart the air craft China sells to the Sudan.
Again the Wal-Mart bashing of Hillary by Obama reflects such hypocrisy as RR points out. Michele sat on the board of a major food supplier to Wal-Mart for years making thousands of dollars and then left giving a rather lame excuse. To independents, I suspect, this hypocritical behavior reflects on the character and consistency of Barak Obama. While I doubt this has any impact on Obama supporters, as Wendy points out, this might not play so well in the general.......
Sorry, I did not mean to sound critical. Just that there were 5 addresses to post..
There was a protest in NYC this morning to protest the media bias of Hillary and disenfranchised Michigan and Florida voters. I know that you must be neutral Craig and fair to all three presidential runners. But I am sorry that you did not promote this more. Realize it is hard to appease us all, hee hee. As if you could.
Seriously, you all please , all Hillary supporters write.
Love your blog Craig, you're the best..
we weeds do need to be closely watched over.
Sharing my perspective...pogo's right. The current tone of the blog is far different than it was a short year ago. I found the blog during the Imus debacle and, while there was disagreement amongst us as to whether Imus was good or bad, it didn't result in badly hurt feelings or enmity deep enough that it may end some once very good cyber-friendships...as I think has already occurred during this political season.
As one whose intent is to vote for the Democrat nominee in November, I'm shocked and saddened to see how some here demonize one or the other of the Dem candidates. Seems unproductive to me.
I'm also saddened that it's so easy for the media to divert our attention from what's important. We spend so much time on the topic d'jour. Meanwhile, our country is being taken from us, bit by bit. Focus, please...
Supreme Court!
Constitution!
Feel free to add to the list of what we need to focus on....
How the Clintons got elected and then got rich: part II. (Exploiting war refugees and union-busting.)
Here's how Bill Clinton helped thousands of Bosnian refugees come to the USA to work for Tyson corp, another notorious anti-union company. (Tyson was Bill's first big-business political contributor when he ran for governor.)
Today's video is wonderful...and the metaphor painfully accurate!
I love playing in the dirt. Have a big back yard that is always a work of art in progress. Aren't they all!?! But I'd never heard of a plumbago before. Don't think it would grown happily in WA state, either, but it's beautiful. Did you see the picture Linda posted of a plumbago in full flower? Gorgeous!
And, dog...I choose skyflower. Love that name for the plumbago (which sounds a bit like a painful medical condition)....
Warren I can't find anything in the Time on line and heard nothing regarding the victims march. My guess is it wasn't very heavily attended or else we would have seen or heard something by now.
Okay Nash, you take Rezko and Auchi and I'll take Tyson. Two indicted criminals v a guy who looks like the product he sells. And Rez can trade me two run down churches for slumlord housing. Yep, I can live with that score card.
And did those Bosnians hate coming here and working for Tyson?
Well, time for lunch - I'm feeling the need to head south of the border to Las Trancas for some chips, salsa and whatever the special is today. Arriba! Andale!!
Yes! Yes! Yes! And yes! To everything you added! And the Supreme Court and our Constitution should lead the way to the best decisions regarding all of these issues!
Jamie, I remember before that when Larry Hagman was Anthony Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie... I bought several seasons on DVD, though now I am moving back to "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" since I have watched all 3 released seasons of THAT GIRL... MTM was based in Minneapolis where I grew up. It's still so much fun to watch...
If anyone is into tv trivia I am playing tv squares on facebook.. Join in with the fun... Here is the link to my profile:
As much as I recognize your distaste for Hillary, I don't consider you to be demonizing her. I consider you to be posting your opinions, often coupled with documentation to back them up. Those are the kinds of posts we need in order to make reasoned decisions, because none of us can keep up with all the information that's available...or vet it.
We need your voice...and kgc's...and bunches of others who do such a good job of enlightening us...even when we may not like what we're reading. I'm always pleased to see your posts.
If there are any TV "historians" in the room today...I need help finding the name of a program that aired on ESPN.
It was the skeet shooting show that paired a celebrity with a professional shooter. Their goal was to shoot targets within certain areas of a grid to score points.
I thought it was Star Shots but I am not sure and the google is letting me down.
I just had a pedicure... I get them every 5 weeks...
Oh and I was wondering what Brian thinks of Obama's position on not demanding a position from candidates for Joint Chiefs on whether Gays or Lesbians can serve openly in the military? It didn't sound very progressive to me....
Tom it doesn't matter what the joint chiefs thinks about it, it's up to the president. Obama has stated clearly he will revoke DADT, so what's the point of your question?
Big deal. Rich people support Obama. So do poor people, middle-class people etc. And it is crazy to pick on this point - when there is no denying that Obama's campaign has been supported by more small donors than any other in history...
Another Boycott Beijing moment. (Not 'being there' would be your safest bet.)
"More than 100 staff at 21 stations surrounding the city will have 10 minutes' notice to fire rockets or cannons containing silver iodide at approaching clouds in the hope of making them rain before they reach the stadium."
"The Office of Environment, Health and Safety, UC Berkeley, rates silver iodide as a Class C, non-soluble, inorganic, hazardous chemical that pollutes water and soil.(8) It has been found to be highly toxic to fish, livestock and humans.(6,7,8,9) Numerous medical articles demonstrate that humans absorb silver iodide through the lungs, nose, skin, and GI tract.(7,8,9) Mild toxicity can cause GI irritation, renal and pulmonary lesions, and mild argyria (blue or black discoloration of the skin). Severe toxicity can result in hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, shock, enlarged heart, severe argyria, and death by respiratory depression.(8)"
The point is Obama goes around telling everyone that they don't. He's lying.
SurveyUSA shows Hillary up to 18% again after a narrowing last week. Another poll has her up by 10% after it was also narrower last week. The polls...how are they looking...like Hillary's minor glitch with Bosnia is behind her and she's now pulling away from him again. That's how they're looking.
Didn't it used to be like 16 or 20 points? Man, looks like Obama does well when he gets out and meets the voters.
Don't worry - I am sure Clinton will fight on even if she does not get a big win in PA. It will dive-bomb her chances to win the popular vote - but the Clintons will come up with some other argument...
(Like Hillary does better with people who vote before 12:00 pm - and THOSE are the MOST important voters in the general elections - that Mr. or Mrs. Super D - is EXACTLY why you should vote for Senator Clinton!!)
I have never heard Obama say rich people don't support him. That would be silly.
And just because Obama focuses on the record number of small donors he has...well...wouldn't you?
(I think it is a great point.)
(And Bosina WAS behind her - until Wild Bill brought it up again along with some "misstatements" of his own. Plus, even if people are not talking about it - no one has forgotten it.)
I'll see yours with 15 million from Ron Burkle plus raise you 31 million from Frank Giustra funneled to Hillary via Bubba. The QPQ will be forthcoming if they can get her elected. They'll make W/Cheney scam look like a monopoly game LOL
Tom it doesn't matter what the joint chiefs thinks about it, it's up to the president. Obama has stated clearly he will revoke DADT, so what's the point of your question?
Posted by: Brian Hussein In NYC | April 11, 2008 12:24 PM
But he doesn't offer a solution to ensure that Gays and Lesbians cannot be tossed out because of their sexual orientation. That is the point of my question.
No...he says he doesn't take money from certain industries when in fact...he does...the money is simply laundered through family members to make it look as if he doesn't.
You can't spin it with me Warren. Perhaps you'll convince a lurker...
And what does it say about someone that is outspending his opponent by 4-1 in a state and just when it looked like he was going to catch up to her...she PULLS away from him and widens the margin again...Dude can't close the deal.
"even if people are not talking about it - no one has forgotten it."
clearly...given her lead is widening in PA again...they have.
Now go on...go spin Obama's sinking PA poll numbers until you barf...I'll be out of the office for a couple of hours.
"You know, I got tickled the other day. A lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me. But there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated — and immediately apologized for it — what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995 [sic]. Did y'all see all that? Oh, they blew it up."
One time Bill - really? "Immediately apologized" (as soon as she saw the video-tape).
And "fulminating"? Who talks like that? (at least he threw in a "y'all"...)
Warren..Please read my post carefully. I alluded to the previous drop.
Your heightened sense of distress is very encouraging for Hillary supporters.
Gorgeous, sunny day in the Willamette Valley. I'm going to go to Portland and do 15 minutes of sign holding for Hillary in Salem, Keizer, Woodburn, Canby, Wilsonville,
Oregon City, Gladstone, Gresham, and several stops in Portland.
"Barack Obama and Gay Rights in Illinois: Barack Obama supported gay rights during his Illinois Senate tenure. He sponsored legislation in Illinois that would ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation."
"Don't Ask, Don't Tell - Gays in the Military: Barack Obama believes we need to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military. His campaign literature says, "The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve."
"Gay & Lesbian Adoption: Barack Obama believes gays and lesbians should have the same rights to adopt children as heterosexuals."
"And what does it say about someone that is outspending his opponent by 4-1"
It says he has more money that her because he is more popular and his campaign is better managed.
And would you lay off the "can't close the deal" argument. It was created by the GOP and it is pure sophistry.
Obama could not win over the loyal Clintonites - even if he really was the second coming. So until she drops out - he will not win over those voters no matter how much he spends.
I sure don't remember seeing the outrage over Pat Robersons remarks regarding God punishing NOLA because of the Gays like I see the outrage over Rev. Wrights remarks.
Nor over his calling for the killing of a foreign leader. And as far as I know no one has left his church.
So does that mean that all those who attend Robertson's Church or even Jerry Falwell's church should be condemned for not leaving it?
Seems to be quite selective when it comes to preachers of so called Christian Churches whether or not someone should disassociated themselves from them.
And yes in the Bible God does condemn them who do not do right. Many nations were destroyed because God condemned them for how they treated others, so why should we consider ourselves better than those nations God did damn?
The Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on September 21, 1996, after moving through a legislative fast track and overwhelming approval in both houses of the Republican-controlled U.S. Congress. Its Congressional sponsors stated, "[T]he bill amends the U.S. Code to make explicit what has been understood under federal law for over 200 years; that a marriage is the legal union of a man and a woman as husband and wife, and a spouse is a husband or wife of the opposite sex." [4]
So Tom we already know the Clintons support discrimination against gays. You think this is a wise issue for you to bring up? Shades of talking out of both sides of their faces, very much in the same vein as NAFTA.
Obama does not care about the Joint Chiefs personal positions - he would rather just change their official position:
The Democratic presidential front-runner told The Advocate, a gay magazine, that he wants to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays, which was instituted during the Clinton administration.
He said his priority for the Joint Chiefs will be that they make decisions to strengthen the military and keep the country safe, not their position on the policy.
Arabic is hard.
It's much easier to translate "liberal perfesser wannabe"
I only need to understand 2 or 3 phrases with the most common being " I can______ but you are a ________________ when you do."
Whenever Brian and Warren go on a full frontal attack, I know the Obama campaign is nervous. While B and W continue the attacks, I'm leaving now for a day of real campaigning.
Hey Warren among OD's many "talents" is mind reading. I wonder why she keeps trying to silence open discourse. Care to take a guess at what she's so afraid of?

Now I know what's bugging Obama supporters
http://www.adnkronos.com/AKI/English/Politics/?id=1.0.2060269060
Now that must explain it
Hey Wendy, what's shakin?
Left you some thoughts on Indies last night.....
Posted by: Maxtrue | April 11, 2008 8:21 AM
Any other theories out there?
Posted by: Wendy!

"In dozens of top-secret talks and meetings in the White House, the most senior Bush administration officials discussed and approved specific details of how high-value al Qaeda suspects would be interrogated by the Central Intelligence Agency, sources tell ABC News."
http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/LawPolitics/story?id=4583256&page=1
Also when will the International Community step up to the plate and uphold their obligations under International Law and the Geneva Conventions.
None of them should be allowed to set foot in any Country that are signatories to the Conventions without being arrested and tried for their War Crimes.
But then over half the country think Torture is okay and see no problem with us being a Country that Commits Acts of Torture and other War Crimes.
Maybe after all the Reverend Wright is correct and God has Damned America.

Hillary the Wal-Mart feminist?
Wal-Mart is notorious for denying promotions to women, and paying women lower salaries than men doing the same job. (After all, men have to support a family.)
Wal-Mart's clothing comes from Asian sweat shops were teenaged girls work 16 hour days, for about $2.00 a day. Sexual abuse by male supervisors is common.
Wal-mart is also notoriously racist, denying promotions to minorities, but I don't suppose that the "feminists for Hillary" care about that either.
Posted by: nash
| April 11, 2008 10:03 AM
http://www.wherethemoneygoes.com/off_message.htm
Posted by: GORDO | April 11, 2008 10:04 AM
When I criticize Hillary's support of Wal-Mart's mistreatment of women, I am merely revealing what a sexist pig I am.
Apparently, it is sexist to criticize a female politician's actions or policies, because, if she is female, she must be a feminist.
Thus, by inductive logic we may conclude that the exploitation of women is a core feminist principle.

Hey there Nash. Good to see you posting. TGIF.

It's linked below.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/20/us/politics/20walmart.html?ei=5090&en=fafaac090e276942&ex=1337313600&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=print

Cheers,

ET...

Obama could not win over the loyal Clintonites - even if he really was the second coming. So until she drops out - he will not win over those voters no matter how much he spends.

ET...

Code to make explicit what has been understood under federal law for over 200 years; that a marriage is the legal union of a man and a woman as husband and wife, and a spouse is a husband or wife of the opposite sex." So Tom we already know the Clintons support discrimination against gays.

How to get rich, the Clinton way.
Bill takes $800,000 from Columbia to lobby for a free trade deal that Hillary says she opposes.

Why oh why Bill...
No one was "fulminating" about Bosnia until Bill decided to bring it back up.
Any lying to justify Hillary's "misstatements" is just plain stupid.
HRC ran a fine campaign up to Feb. 5. After that, she became desparate and her campaign has made mistake after mistake.
Obama has run a fine campaign this whole primary. And that is why he has won more delegates, states and votes.
(I am off to the gym. 30 minutes of cardio and then off to the steam room to try and sweat out all the toxins I put into my body last night ; )

Hey Warren among OD's many "talents" is mind reading. I wonder why she keeps trying to silence open discourse. Care to take a guess at what she's so afraid of?
