What's worse than a broken ankle in a fiberglass cast? Watching a presidential debate every 10 days, that's what. But it's not like I've got anything else to do, so why not elevate the leg and endure another round of White House wannabees hammering away at each other.
See Comments for Trailmixers reacting to the Republican debate that aired tonight on the FOX News Channel.
AT STAKE: Who is the Republican frontrunner? Mike Huckabee won Iowa. John McCain won New Hampshire. With Michigan and South Carolina around the corner, Mitt Romney owns the silver medal, while Rudy Giuliani waits for Florida's Jan. 29 primary to finally affirm his once-solid status as national frontrunner. And don't forget Ron Paul and Fred Thompson -- Not yet contenders for first place, but always fun to watch.

RUdy may find a rude awakening if the State Reps vote the way the talk of the town is from the vantage point in which I sit.
His one line add is agreed to be very valid, but other concerns are not being addressed. We will never forget and yes Islamic Radicals are a danger, however it seems Rudy has put all of his effort into this single theme.
He is not addressing Economic, Health, Illegals.... The one track attack will leave him walking in circles at not on the platform

Repost as to carry on from the previous thread.
Love you guys! As a Republican all I want are my taxes cut and the government out the practice of making decisions in my personal life. Not sure if I agree on Bush being annoited in his first presidential election, but that's okay. I'm sre he was probably my guy because I worked for Jeb's administration at that time. Full disclosure, I'm a SAHM with 2 kids and my husband is in the political business.
And a question, What on earth does KO mean by pseudo Republcans?
Okay on Fox to watch the debate now..

Ugly tie....
Mitt will not win Michigan because.......30,000 workers have exited the state in search of jobs (TRUE) and that makes an 8.11 percent unemployment rate to boot.

"It's the economy stupid"??? dollar's sinking faster than the Titanic, job numbers way down and those are wait staff jobs, housing foreclosures, no healthcare.. and when ya have it, it's expensive.. the euro's soaring, the british pound is now worth $2 US, and our dollar's worth more than yours now, believe me, it's not because our economic policies are all that much better..

like juries, maybe?

yes sturg, i guess focus groups would make more sense if we elected presidents with a jury system instead of the secret individual ballot

Well spoke to soon! Just finished watching all the post debate coverage, and the focus group wasn't too far off on many things. frank asked "what do republicans need to do to win the election?" answer one- don't act like a democrat, another answer- stop apologizing for being a Republican. One other observation from me, stop letting Alan Colmbes ask questions because he seems to be pandering to his following.

Was it the brownies, or did somewhere in the middle of debate Ron Paul slip on a pair of tights, a cape, and shirt with a big "P" on the front?
They kept shootin' at him, but not of the bullets had any effect....

Kind of surprised y'all didn't say anything about Craig's toes. Seemed like the other night, the ladies were all comparing the softness of each of the candidate's hands.

CBS hourly radio news led with Ron Paul dissing Thompson for the virgin comment...Ron Paul said with no WMD or any real agenda , people are just looking for excuses to bomb Iran.
It worked for LBJ in 1964 when it was alleged that two little fishing boats fired upon a big bad US Naval ship. Some place called The Gulf of Tonkin.
I was all set to watch the thing, and then when I saw the Red Wings were on TV...I forgot all about it.
So I clicked back and forth between the Pistons and Wings games, and the msnbc special about the madman who transformed a 21 month old boy into a girl . Horrible outcome --- both twins committed suicide .
That was the saddest thing I watched since the torture at Abu Ghraib...what's that, John McCain?
Oh, ABU GHRAIB. Read up on it, it's really very interesting. That is if your little ass-kissing buddy-general Petraeus hasn't burned all the records.
The last time I set out to protest a republican appearance, armed sheriff's deputies had set up checkpoints on all the roads leading to the farm where Cheney sat on a bale of hay and talked up Bush and himself. I mean I couldn't get anywhere near that farm without Republican Party credentials.
This thing might be over for McCain by the time our OH primary rolls around in March. If not, and McCain comes here ,I 'll be there protesting for peace and an exit from Iraq.
McCain hates protesters. And I hate McCain. But Craig, you're right...playing big in the South, I know, I know....

Dex: isn't that funny that the NSA report on the Gulf of Tonkin (no)incident was released at the same time as this latest Persian Gulf (no)incident
the ACLU wants folks to wear orange today to protest Guantanamo. The only orange stuff I have is a tie(it's ghastly I love it) and a dog vest so people don't mistake Boo for moose.
Markos is asking the Kossacks to vote for Romney in the Michigan primary. I understand his reasoning I suppose but I don't think it's a good idea.
JennBe you're on the map
Posted by: ran | January 11, 2008 1:36 AM
Huckabee may never see the inside of the White House, but he's going to create havac along the way.
I think more Republicans are thinking more along his lines of "What Would Jesus Do" than the rest of all the "With Us or Against Us People".
