Just when Hillary Rodham Clinton needed to change the subject from her entanglement in the immigration thicket, guess who helped pluck the New York senator out of it? Her chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Barack Obama, that’s who.
Oddly, the Illinois senator spent the last news cycle trying to make Iran the big story. In interviews for The New York Times and NBC’s “Today Show,” Obama detailed how, as president, he would personally negotiate with Iran and offer economic incentives if Iranian leaders would forgo nuclear development. That helped cut short the news media frenzy over Clinton’s faltering debate performance on Tuesday.
Had Obama not been so aggressive about switching stories, Clinton probably would have faced at least one more cycle of fallout for waffling her debate answer on whether to issue driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. With foes like Obama, she hardly needs friends.

Good job on Hardball, Craig.
Matthews is full of shit. I have never witnessed a man who plays the gender card more than he does, btw.
Check out what Matt Stoller has to say about the male gender card and politics:

Chris Matthews reminds me of rabid dog locked in a closet. That is where Hardball could be telecast given that nobody watchs the show. Matthew's is biased and rude. I can't stand him or his narrow minded dithering. Somebody should tell him to shut up!

Chris Matthews was certainly no friend of Gore in the 2000 election as he spent near a full year blasting him at every opportunity. He shouldn't be expected to be a friend of Hillary in 08. I am Catholic as is Matthews, but he is of the anti abortion only crowd where unfortunatly most Catholic church leaders are stuck days while they play down the Mathew 25 version of the teaching of christianity. Matthews will always have disdain for women unless they are from the Ann Colter mold so get ready for anti Clinton diatribe from now to election day on Hardball.
