Voters Say Obama Not Tough Enough with Iran and North Korea

About two-thirds of voters believe that President Obama has not been tough enough with the two nations - North Korea and Iran - that have raised serious concerns about their nuclear ambitions, and those numbers include a majority of Democrats, according to a Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll conducted June 9-10.

Sixty-nine percent say Obama has not been tough enough on North Korea, including 65 percent of Democrats, and 66 percent say he has not been tough enough on Iran, including 57 percent of Democrats.

The biggest concern among voters is that North Korea and Iran would develop and sell nuclear missiles to terrorists or another country, with 41 percent saying that about North Korea and 35 percent about Iran. Eighteen percent are worried that North Korea would use nuclear missiles to attack the U.S. while 23 percent are concerned that Iran would use them against Israel.

Voters also strongly disagree with the Obama administration on closing Guanatánamo, saying by a 60 percent to 32 percent that it should not be shut down. By about a similar margin, they oppose transferring its prisoners to the U.S.

They did believe Obama was right to make his Cairo speech reaching out to the Muslim world, with 55 percent saying it was necessary to build a bridge to Muslims and 36 percent regarding it as an "inappropriate apology."

Voters also had some thumbs-down for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with only 22 percent believing her statement that she was not briefed on interrogation techniques used on suspected terrorists, and 56 percent believing the CIA over her. Democrats split evenly on the question at 38 percent each.

  1. I actually feel sorry for Obama on this one. Outside of military action, there is not a whole lot he can do about this. If he tells China to quick propping up that little idiot or we will cut off Chinese trade with the US, they dump our securities and make the dollar worth as much as the Peso. Remember, China is the puppet-master here.

Wow...we are too dumb to be governed. I mean they at like these terrorists have super powers or something. I mean this isn't the movies we can actually hold terrorists, and criminals in Prisons, this isn't Con Air.
