Fifty-three percent of Americans have cut back on health care for financial reasons over the last 12 months and the 19 percent who couldn't say they have experienced serious money problems as a result, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll conducted Feb. 3-12.
The survey detailed these ways that people have cut back:

Of the 19 percent that couldn't postpone health care needs, 13 percent said they had used up most or all of their savings in paying medical bills, and an equal number say that this has had a ripple effect on their ability to pay other bills as well. Twelve percent got to the point where they were hearing from collection agencies.
