Much in line with the Associated Press-GfK poll we posted earlier, a USA Today/Gallup poll finds, in a survey conducted Nov. 7-9, that a majority of Americans believe Obama will be able to produce results on 13 of 16 top issues it asked voters about. What is interesting about this analysis is that it gives a rough comparison between Obama and several past Presidents about how he stacks up with the public in the expectations game.
You can get the full list at Gallup, but the top five issues on which Americans believe Obama will be able to achieve results are improving conditions for minorities and the poor (80 percent), increasing respect for the U.S. abroad (76 percent), improving education (71 percent), improving the environment (70 percent) and reducing unemployment (67 percent). The three areas where a majority of Americans said Obama would not succeed is in substantially reducing the federal deficit, avoiding tax increases and controlling illegal immigration.
A separate Gallup posting today
found (predictably, given this honeymoon period) that moderates and liberals overwhelmingly had confidence in Obama's ability to be a good president, he even scored reasonably well among conservatives, with 45 percent expressing confidence and 46 percent disagreeing.
Here is how Gallup said this compared to past Presidents:
- The confidence in Obama on the economy is about the same percentage-wise that Americans had for the last three presidents when they took office: George W. Bush in 2001, Bill Clinton in 1992 and George H.W. Bush in 1988.
- Where Obama outruns his predecessors is on the expectations of how much he will accomplish to improve conditions for minorities. Eighty percent believe Obama will pull achieve that, compared to 44 percent for George W. Bush, 68 percent for Clinton and 39 percent for George H.W. Bush.
- Gallup had posed similar questions about whether Americans thought their new president would reduce unemployment for Clinton in 1992 and Ronald Reagan in 1980, and Obama came out ahead in that category with 67 percent believing he would, compared to 58 percent for Clinton and 47 percent for Reagan.
- Fifty-six percent of Americans don't believe Obama will reduce the deficit, a figure roughly equal to that of Clinton, the first President Bush and Reagan at the outset of their administrations.
- On taxes, where 61 percent say Obama won't be able to avoid raising them, 74 percent said that of Clinton and 68 percent said that of the first President Bush.

Most of the Problem is, Republicans are not Conservatives anymore. They have destroyed their own platform, by being in collusion with big corporations and businesses. As an Independent, I had a choice. Vote for the usual indifferent party to Americans concerns, or vote for somebody who may change the financial landscape. Instead of the dribble of money to the lower ranks. Let their be a fountain from the working people who are the ones, who make the money for the fat cats. In my eyes nobody can fault Lou Dobbs, because without his in-depth investigative journalism, THE PEOPLE would be left in the dark about most issues. My priorities are health care, outsourcing, importation of illegal slave labor, selling America to foreign governments like China, Arab Emirates, our collapsing infrastructure, defunding of the border fence by Nancy Pelos, Harry Reid and the most urgent issue ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
Since I have been watching LOU DOBBS, I have become an advocate for his ideology. The issues that concern me is the corruption that we face every day from Washington. That's why I took full membership in JUDICIAL WATCH. They are a legal team an organization made up of lawyers, investigators, and concerned citizens." It was established in 1994 "to serve as an ethical and legal watchdog over our government, legal, and judicial systems. This legal group is very pro-sovereignty, anti-illegal immigration and works to protect American workers and the legal population.
Take a trip to their website and read the positive lawsuits they have pending and won against corrupt politicians and the criminal element that surrounds us. JUDICIAL WATCH has brought ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION to the forefront, because they realize the substantial losses to the American people in trillions of dollars every year to accommodate the worlds poor.
That 'Sanctuary cities and state policies are killing millions of Americans every year, because they promote shielding illegal aliens. JUDICIAL WATCH knows the true number of illegal immigrants settled here, not the propaganda offered by the Liberal press. Find the time to read the facts at www.judicialwatch.org, Factual information can be found at www.numbersusa.com YOU MUST DECIDE OUR COUNTRIES FUTURE?

I wouldn't have commented on this article but I felt I should respond to Brittanicus' ad for Judicial Watch.
I joined Judicial Watch months ago to receive their newsletters because they said they are non-partisan for their non-profit status. Since then I have emailed them at least 3 times (with no response) and contacted them by telephone on as many newsletters for their coverage not being non-partisan. They will report on one topic for one party and never will you see the issue raised in the same instance for the other. It doesn't take many newsletters to see they have an agenda. I also reported them to the IRS for this.
Judicial Watch is PROPAGANDA hiding under a non-partisan non-profit label.

Dr. Tantillo, who blogs from a branding perspective, blogged last month about the difficulty--and importance--of Obama staying true to his brand.
"President Obama will need to continually listen to the electorate, respond to the pragmatic core and the center. Real marketing —i.e., knowing your Target Market and its needs— will preserve the promise of the candidacy from the rigors of the presidency."
