Hillary Clinton leads Barack Obama by 51 percent to 38 percent with 8 percent saying they'd vote for neither and 3 per cent undecided, according to a poll conducted for the newspaper El Vocero and Univision. If Puerto Rican voters were allowed to cast ballots in the general election, they'd vote for the Democrat over John McCain by 72 percent to 10 percent. Clinton was regarded favorably by 52 percent of voters compared to 34 percent who saw her unfavorably, while Obama was seen favorably by 42 percent and unfavorably by 44 percent. The survey was conducted May 8-20 and has a margin of error of 3.45 percent. Puerto Rico's primary is this Sunday.

  1. I kept hearing how Mrs. Clinton was going to get 2 million votes in Puerto Rico by Clinton's TV pundits. Do they understand Puerto Rico and Puerto Rican politics (which revolve around the island nation special relationship with the US and the 3 options towards self determination which include associated Free state with sovereignty or enhanced commonwealth [status favored by the ruling party], full independence and annexation to the US as a state or incorporated territory ? ). I think they do not. There is even a boycott /protest march to be held that same day by independence supporters, nationalists and the center left wing of the ruling party. Puerto Rico is a whole other country!
