Pros and Cons of Palin

| | Comments (5)

Sources indicate to several news organizations that Sen. John McCain has picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate and will officially introduce her at a noon press conference in Dayton, OH.

Pluses: Palin is an exciting, non-traditional pick that stops people talking about Obama's historic speech last night. She may appeal to women voters still unsure about Obama.

Minuses: She's completely unknown and has even less experience than Obama. Just a year and a half ago she was mayor of a town with just over 5,000 people. By picking her, McCain undercuts his argument that Obama's not ready. Another wildcard is the ongoing ethics investigation against her administration.

  1. McCain's pick of Palin, a woman with very little executive experience, a woman who has approved a 26 billion dollar oil pipeline to Canada instead of the United States shows that McCain's decision was made from an adlolescent place of "I'll show you mentallity" instead of one of wisdom and judgment and will be a disaster because this is not a game but serious, deadly business! Maybe McCain really is senile and confused and incapable of making sound judgments. This woman will be a heartbeat away from being in charge of the highest office in the land. If she was Qualified, that would be different but she is not and that is the bottom line. Not to mention that his argument that Barack has no experience And Is not Ready is out the door, his strongest argument against Barack.

Is this decision Historic or Hysterical or a mockery to our political system? A game changer or a roll of the dice? And should a Presidential candidate play russian roulette with the people's business? It is sort of sad to me personally, that McCain with all the problems we face here, did not have the People's interest at heart but rather a desire to win for winning's sake and did not think of the consequences of his actions and what it would mean for this country if she had to be sworn in as President of the United States!

However, in this evil ploy to pull Hillary women from Barack with no consideration as to whether or not this woman has the ability and experience to lead the United States here and on a world scale shows a very adolescent way of thinking, and a lack of sound judgment and as McCain's first executive decision, a disaster! Through this pick, McCain has just shown that he is NOT READY TO LEAD, and it also proves that he is not really serious about solving America's problems!

  2. Best known for bird-dogging members of her own party she may turn out to be the conservatives worst nightmare. Sarah Palin is like an unfinished song, we know some of the words and a note or two, we don't know the final composition. In some ways, she has been the canary in the mine shaft for the GOP. She has alerted the Republican party to the killing miasma of corruption within their ranks. I wonder, can her ethical instincts continue unchecked in close proximity to the GOP political powers?

  3. Not only is Palin less experienced and less qualified than Barack, she seems to lack the intellectual curiosity, or unwillingness, and depth to probe and understand the important and complexing problems/issues knocking at our door today. For example, "What is it exactly that the vice president does all day?" Palin offhandedly asked CNBC anchor Larry Kudlow in July. And, if she does not know what a VP does will she know what a President does. And when asked about her stance on Iraq by Alaskan Daily Palin answers "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments"! Well what about Iran, and Georigia? Does this show someone who is ready for Prime Time! And, was she truly vetted? Sarah/McCain get ready for she is about to come under the "media" microscope!

"John McCain for all his white hair who represents the risky choice, while it is Barack Obama who offers cautious, steady, predictable governance.
Here’s I fear the worst harm that may be done by this selection. The McCain campaign’s slogan is "country first." It’s a good slogan, and it aptly describes John McCain, one of the most self-sacrificing, gallant, and honorable men ever to seek the presidency. But question: If it were your decision, and you were putting your country first, would you put an untested small-town mayor a heartbeat away from the presidency? David Frum
Lastly, McCain's pick of Sarah Palin, a woman with very little executive experience, a woman who has approved a 26 billion dollar gas-pipeline to a Canadian business instead of a business here in the United States, a woman who the Alaskan legislature approved a $100,000 Investigation into her motivations in firing Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan (troopergate) has proven to the world how really pathetic the Republican party has become that they will try any trick in the book to keep the power in the hands of big oil and special interest and out of the hands of the people where it belongs.

  4. THIS CHOICE FOR V.P. IS A GREAT ONE THIS WOMAN IS MORE LIKE YOU AND I! SHE IS NOT A WASHINGTON INSIDER AND I BELIEVE SHE WILL DO A GOOD JOB IF ELECTED! I STRONGLY FEEL IF GIVEN THE CHANCE SHE WILL TAKE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND PUT THEM FIRST! BECAUSE SHE IS UNADULTERATED BY THE POLITICANS OR LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON. I THINK SHE WILL DO WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT! AND IF GIVEN THE CHANCE SHE WILL BE AMERICA'S CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012! SHE IS SMART AND WILLING TO GO TO TASK AS YOU CAN SEE FROM HER RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE LAST 16 YRS WHICH IS FAR MORE THAT BARACK OBAMA’S! TO SAY THAT PALIN IS NOT READY IF JOHN McCAIN'S HEALTH IS FAILING IS WRONG! SHE HAS MORE EXCUTIVE EXPERIANCE THAN OBAMA; SHE RAN A TOWN AND A STATE. ALBEIT FOR A SHORT TIME AS GOVENOR! BUT IT IS A LARGE STATE THAT IS JUST A (HEARTBEAT) AWAY FROM RUSSIA! AND SHE HAS DONE VERY GOOD THERE. IF OBAMA IS ELECTED THEN WE ARE PUTTING SOMEONE IN OFFICE THAT HAS NEVER EVEN RAN A SMALL CITY, HELL HE'S NEVER EVEN RAN A BUSINESS... HE IS THE ONE WE SHOULD BE SCARED OF NOT PALIN! AFTER ALL OBAMA NEEDED A VACATION FROM HIS CAMPAGIN.NOT McCAIN HE'S 72 AND RUNNING STRONG AND OBAMA NEEDED A REST, PLUS IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT ALL OBAMA DOES IS GIVE SPEECHS! HE HAS BEEN SCARED TO DEBATE McCAIN IN THE ELECTION RUN SO FAR ...TOO BAD HE' GOING TO BE FORCED TO DO IT NOW! FINALLY WE WILL SEE HIM STAMMER AND FAIL IN THE PUBLIC SPOTLIGHT. BECAUSE HE WILL HAVE NO TELEPROMPTER TO SHOW HIM WHAT TO SAY! AMERICA WILL SEE WHAT AN EMPTY SUIT HE IS AND HOW HE IS A LEFTIST LIBERAL WITH MARXIST TENDANCIES! HE IS OWNED BY THE MOVE-ON .ORG CROWD AND THE LIBERAL MEDIA! IF WERE NOT CAREFUL OUR RIGHTS WILL BE SLOWLY TAKEN AWAY! AND WE WILL BE STUCK IN A SOCIALIZED SETTING BORDERING COMMUNISM! HE IS A CONSTITUTION LAWYER SO HE KNOWS HOW TO MANIPULATE THE CONSTITUTION! AND IF ANYONE CARES TO DO RESEARCH ON HIM THEY WILL FIND OUT ABOUT ALL THE ANTI AMERICAN FREINDS THIS CANIDATE HAS! AND THAT SHOULD BE A GOOD ENOUGH REASON NOT TO ELECT HIM!
