CQ Tops Print and Online Coverage

When thousands of journalists and bloggers descend on a political convention, it's a tough task for a media organization to distinguish themselves. It's made all that much harder when events are so tightly scripted so that there's little news made. However, of all the traditional media organizations covering the Democratic National Convention this week, Congressional Quarterly comes out on top.

Throughout the day, delegates, members of the press and other convention attendees receive special editions of CQ Today outlining the days events and analysis of key moments. For those with Internet access -- which is ubiquitous around the convention site -- CQPolitics.com is an outstanding resource updated continously throughout the day. For those not in Denver, the site is a must-visit several times a day.

While it might seem a conflict to make this point since Political Insider is published by CQ, the praise is well earned. If CNN can claim the "best political team on television," certainly one of CQ's bloggers can point out the great job CQ has done.

CQ has been tops in congressional coverage for decades. Their political and campaign now rivals the best as well.

  1. I agree that CQ has a great site but shouldn't you be honest and disclose your cooperative arrangement with them before praising them.
