What We Want To Know

News of a secret meeting between Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton tonight in Washington, D.C. blankets the cable television channels. When books are written about the 2008 presidential race, this meeting could be an entire chapter.

Here's what we want to know:

  • Who arranged the meeting? One of these two men?
  • When was it arranged? In a hallway?
  • Which campaign leaked news of the meeting to Matt Drudge?
  • Was a condition of the meeting Clinton's disavowal of pressuring Obama to be his running mate?
  • Are they coordinating Clinton's message for her Saturday withdrawal from the race?
  • Is Bill Clinton at the meeting?
  • How much will we ever know about what happened tonight?

  1. Who cares? Really? He's going about healing the rift in the party, and that's all that needs to be addressed, not some catty article about 'who did this, and who did that"

  2. I'll second the comment by dectra. What does it matter, Obama has won, he's meeting with the runner-up. Simple as that. I don't care what was said really, must we now dwell on what each does for the rest of the election?!

  3. I agree with Dectra and AntonX2 regarding the mechanics of the meeting. The actual content, however, i.e., what was said would reveal a great deal about the two people and would be of historical value. Transcript, anyone?

  4. As long as he was promising her a place on the Supreme Court - who cares? Can we not enjoy the twist to the knickers that this puts to Stepin' Fetchit, Alito, Scalia & Roberts?
Why not both Clintons on the Supreme Court?
