With Sen. John McCain clinching the Republican presidential nomination tonight, expect increased urgency among Democrats to wrap up their own race and coalesce around a nominee. Giving McCain a two or three month head start in the general election campaign is the last thing Democrats want.
The pressure, of course, will be felt mostly by the superdelegates who are free to choose between Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama. They will be the people to blame if the Democratic race drags on through the summer until the convention.
Pressure Increases on Superdelegates

To 'save the party' in the upcoming presidential election the two remaining candidates and the superdelegates need to agree on a non-polarizing, civilized process that will carry this exciting and vital nominating season to its successful conclusion. This process needs to be made public so that this great nominating experience does not backfire into a presidential election loss next November. A Concerned Democrat.

What is all the hype about going to the convention? What the hell is it for then? This is what it is all about and super delegates should not shrug their responsibility. The racial tension with the super delegates is wrong. The messiah has capitalized on race far too much already. He is getting near 90% of the Black vote. Why? He says he doesn't want race or gender to be a part of his changing of our government but that 90% is looking for something. What are they looking for that makes them vote as a bloke.? How did they become so solid ? Why aren't the women as solid behind Hillary? Did Barack the Messiah play the race card and blame Bill Clinton? I think so and it has worked flawlessly. Now he is putting pressure on Black Super Delegates. SHAME ON HIM! This is the most racist campaign I've ever sen. It ranks right up there with Wallace.
