The survey showed that 60 percent of women "like" Sarah Palin and 60 percent "admire" her. An overwhelming majority (83 percent) said they will not vote for McCain/Palin just because she's a woman.
Now, I wouldn't expect too many women (or any other specific identity group) to admit they would vote for someone in their same identity group based solely on that commonality. So, I do think the "like" and "admire" numbers are more significant here. The survey also found that 65 percent of women say they have become "more interested" in the campaign since Palin was added to McCain's ticket.
"We were amazed at how many women wanted to weigh in and share their very strong views on her," said Betty Confidential editor-at-large Julie Ryan Evans. "But despite even strong disagreements with her politics, women tend to like and admire Palin as person."
Also worth noting, the survey results were taken before Palin's very mixed performance yesterday during her interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson. The already difficult argument for conservatives that Palin is prepared to be president should something happen to John McCain probably just got considerably more challenging.

Okay, I went to "Betty Confidential" and took the Do you like Michelle Obama survey. They put in questions like "If it was discovered that the Obamas were muslim and lying about it all this time would you still vote for Obama?" I didn't get to answer the Palin survey as I don't go to right wing websites. And just to chime in, I don't know ANY women who like Palin and I know lots of woman on both sides of the aisle!
My prediction is that people will wake up from this moronic vision....

I am appalled by the adulation that Sarah Palin is receiving about being a woman and a mother. As a woman and a mother myself, I think that I can comment, and it won’t be considered a sexist double standard statement.
I understand that Sarah Palin, and her husband are going on a 52 day campaign for the Republican party. She has a 5 month old baby with special needs. Will she take the baby on the campaign, and her “husband” take care of it while she works, or will she leave it at home with a “nanny”? In either case, I think her judgment is very flawed, as one way or the other she has sacrificed that baby for her chance to be the vice president.
One other thing, Gov. Palin doesn't appear to do anything without her husband. So much for feminist independence.
