However, a number of blogs have dug up this ad from Walter Mondale's 1984 primary campaign against Gary Hart. If it sounds familiar, that's because the ad was produced by Clinton's media consultant, Roy Spence
The Moderate Voice disagrees with the "nuclear" characterization:
There have been a few comments to this being Hillary Clinton’s nuclear cloud ad, similar to LBJ’s during the 1964 Johnson-Goldwater campaign for the Presidency. But this doesn’t come close. It’s a basic pitch, again, making the argument that Americans would be safer with Hillary Clinton’s experience. And, of course, it's not the first ad attacking Clinton this campaign to reference 1984:

You know, it is sometimes possible to over-analyze things. HRC is fighting to stay in the race. What do you expect her to do? Lob water balloons at Obama, or what ?? :)

Why do so many people go to the internet to avoid the mainstream and then spend so much effort to make the same points?
I am not a Hillary voter. I'm in Michigan and I gave Kucinich my vote. Anything I say about the candidates is like an evangelical male telling you what he thinks about having an abortion. One, he can't have one, and two, he shouldn't being making up the mind of someone else.
However Texas and Ohio goes on Tuesday, Florida and Michigan still have to be dealt with. The DNC should have worked this out before January 15th with the leadership of the respective states. Florida is clear because both candidates were on the ballot, and Michigan voters wanting Obama and Edwards voted uncommitted since they weren't on the ballot.
Obama leads by 102 delegates (counting committed superdelegates), but when the renegade states are counted his lead cuts to about 25-30.
So why does the media have us convinced she should back out now?
It reminds me of 2004 when Bill O'Reilly, Fox and the Wall Street Journal all told the dems that Kerry was their man.
