A political committee linked to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee, raised $1.4 million in the second half of last year.

According to a filing made Saturday to the Federal Election Commission, Sarah PAC took in most of its funds in small donations that are not itemized on campaign reports. It spent $928,000 during the period, much of it on fundraising and consulting, and began this year with $928,000 cash-on-hand.

Sarah PAC gave $35,500 to federal candidates and committees, including to Senate candidates Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

Palin's committee also gave some money to Republican candidates in non-federal races, including John Kasich, a candidate for Ohio governor, and Bob McDonnell, who was elected governor of Virginia last fall.

  1. It's sad that people still donate to her.
