You thought Rush Limbaugh was leading the conservative pack in terms of extreme anti-Obama rhetoric? Guess again. There are rightwingers claiming that President Barack Obama is part of a global conspiracy to destroy the US economy.
The other day, Human Events, the conservative magazine, zapped out an email pitching copies of a book called Obama Unmasked, written by Floyd Brown, a longtime conservative activist responsible for the infamous Willie Horton ad, and Lee Troxler, a former Reagan White House press aide. The book came out before the election. But the election results apparently have not voided the need for this book. In fact, the authors claim it is needed now more than ever. Really. Truly. That is, if you can handle the truth about Barack Hussein Obama.
Here's the bottom line:
When it comes to Barack Hussein Obama and the plans he has in store for YOU, plunging the United States into European-style Socialism is JUST THE BEGINNING. Make no mistake, Barack Hussein Obama is probably one of the most dangerous men alive today!
Brown and Troxler claim that Obama "formed a secret pack [sic--they mean "pact"] with Mad Billionaire George Soros" and Asian and European currency traders. Soros, they maintain, is "a half-crazed socialist activist who wants to end American supremacy." Obama, they urge, must be stopped before he sets up a "Neo-Socialist Government" and redistributes "your hard-earned tax dollars to...third-world tyrants around the world." How to stop him? Well, they suggest, you can start by buying their book.
The pair suggest that reading their book will inform you in the same manner that reading Hitler's Mein Kampf would have informed people in the early 1930s about the threat at hand. In this email, Brown states, "it is considered impolite and politically incorrect to compare anyone to Adolf Hitler," but he adds, we should dismiss the point at our own peril." So why mention Hitler and Mein Kampf? Fast--don't think of a Nazi dictator! It's hard not to, when someone says that, right?
The email doesn't quite explain the grand conspiracy that Obama is supposed heading or the "pack" he has entered into with Soros and Asian and European currency traders. You're going to have to buy the book to find out. But I'm encouraged that the crazy right has not been intimidated by the polls showing that most Americans have confidence in Obama and are looking to him to save the US economy. No doubt, there are Americans willing and eager to believe the worst about Obama. But the more the far right peddles--and buys--over-the-top attacks on Obama, the more it will be marginalized. If only Limbaugh would join this assault.

One of the most popular articles on Human Events' website is "The 10 Most Harmful Books of the 19th and 20th Century." The Communist Manifesto is number one. Can you guess what number two is?

maybe he is and maybe he isn't but the downfall of the US economy started long ago.
no amount of "stimulus bail-outs" will bring back the US manufacturing base (JOBS) that our dear leaders have yanked out from under the US for several decades now.
