If you live in France, you are a French citizen. If you live in Germany, you are German. If you live in Russa, you are a Russian. So we end the typos and the uneasiness as to the correct statement regarding an individual standing next to you. If the person lives in the US, has a US passport, then I offer that the correct statement regarding should be, an American. It seems there are some that want to continue to use the dynamic of the hyphen to make a statement. I suggest they are old school, and need to get on with life. Now, when you write your memoirs it would be correct to include your geneology and trace your roots of ancestry, but it is of no benefit to the growth of our American society.
