The Bizarre Tale of a Gun Lobby Mole

| | Comments (3)

I'm traveling today, but please do check out this story I worked on:

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY: UNMASKING A GUN LOBBY MOLE
Mary McFate was a prominent gun control activist. Mary Lou Sapone was a freelance spy with an NRA connection. They are the same person

It's a major investigative story and bizarre tale of a double identity and political shenanigans.

  1. If the NRA are doing this what do you think the GOP is capable of doing?

    (hint - any and everything)

    Ugh!

    Thanks

  2. Great work, David Corn and colleagues. I hope word of this spreads! One of my colleagues says it has long been his belief that the way to keep the NRA honest would be for LOTS of liberal people to join and vote against the association's more questionable proposals and campaign moves.

  3. "(And I recall what a key Hillary Clinton fundraiser and aide said to me at the start of the primary campaign: We cannot make our strongest case against him--America is not going to elect a black man.)"

Oh but Governor Ed Rendell, a key Clinton surrogate, made this case explicitly. Ironically, Gov. Ed's also the Clinton surrogate who was on video in a Black Muslim mosque, sharing the stage with Farrakhan and calling him one of the great spiritual leaders. Of course, Mrs. Clinton didn't have to "reject and renounce" Ed for his Farrakhan ties, despite her being on the road with the Gov for weeks. Nor was the Rendell video played relentlessly on cable. Because, you know, they're white folks.
