Is there a mini-neo-quasi-backlash setting in against the Clintons for their attacks on Barack Obama?
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that some Democratic leaders were getting mighty peeved at the Clintons--especially him for unfairly assailing Barack Obama. (I've reported several times on how the Clinton camp has made false accusations against Obama regarding his position on the Iraq war. See here.)
And there's a rather compelling video in which the former president of Chicago NOW says she has switched from supporting Hillary Clinton to backing Barack Obama because the Clinton campaign has disingenuously assailed Obama's record on abortion rights. It's powerful evidence for those who claim the Clintons are going beyond acceptable politics into the realm of slime and smears. Here it is:
Will this nascent backlash matter? Well, there's not that much time between now and Supersaturated Tuesday on February 5. It's hard to see a full-scale Democratic rebellion against the Clintons emerging. Meanwhile, all this sniping is keeping Obama pinned down. That is, it's working for the Clintons. Their calculation is obvious: the heat is worth the gain.

"the heat is worth the gain."
And the "gain" can only be predicted. It will be interesting to see if the rank and file go for this sort of thing. The big block of super-delegates can change their minds too (and at the last minute).
This is working for the Clintons only if they truly believe HRC is weaker on the issues, many people will see right through the guise.

Back when Clinton was impeached for lying to a grand jury the Dems all said it's ok cuz he was just lying about sex.
Now that Bill is lying about Obama and everything else to make him look good the Dems are crying that Bill's a liar and should shut up. Ed Shulktz calls Bill a liar now and then~ "He is embarrassing and picking on a brother. He needs to shut up!"
Boy, it sure takes you libs a long time to figure out that the Clintons will do anything for power.

(CBS) Saddam Hussein initially didn't think the U.S. would invade Iraq to destroy weapons of mass destruction, so he kept the fact that he had none a secret to prevent an Iranian invasion he believed could happen. The Iraqi dictator revealed this thinking to George Piro, the FBI agent assigned to interrogate him after his capture.
Piro, in his first television interview, relays this and other revelations to 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley this Sunday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

You could have tried to say you read it on another blog.
Crazy but we libs are not liars nor do we libs just make stuff up. That is called integrity.
If you want ot be taken seriously you have to at minimum try to be honest - the weakness of fabrication is more unnecessary blather.

Kucinich drops presidential bid
Cleveland Congressman Dennis Kucinich is dropping out of the Democratic race for president.
Kucinich will make the announcement Friday at a news conference in Cleveland. In an exclusive interview with Plain Dealer editors and reporters, Kucinich said he will explain his "transition" tomorrow.
"I want to continue to serve in Congress," he said.
Kucinich said he will not endorse another Democrat in the primary.
Kucinich is seeking a seventh term in Congress, but his long-shot bid for the White House has drawn four Democratic opponents.

The question is where will the Kucinich voters go? Will the shift make a difference?

I think we know where you are coming from and will never follow anybody but a leader, that's how it works.

Tom Cantu will not be running for the Presidency of Russia.
My statement and that of Congressman Kucinich are of equal import and relevance.

Lying politicians has never been (nor will ever be) a right - left, lib - con, d - r, thing. Politicians lie - it is part of the job.
You just have to realize you are always being lied to when a politician speaks, then you will know the truth.

Do you really think Bush never lied?
Seriously, do you?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone can call someone else a liar, doesn't make it true.
I do not assume to know someones heart or mind when it comes to telling the truth unless it's been proven otherwise, which Iam still waiting for. Not biased reports paid for by polictical opponents but real proof.
So I am not willing to make an assumption based on feelings, and that's all it is, that Bush has never lied.
Posted by: LBH
| January 24, 2008 6:47 PM
Also, just because I believe you haven't proven that Bush has lied doesn't mean I support him lock step and have stated in the past.
Bush has spent us into a hole and I agree with McCain that he should have gotten rid of Rumsfield and changed course in Iraq with the successful surge a long time ago.
I just don't agree with you Bush haters that he lied about the war and theres plenty of proof to prove that. You guy's just refuse to accept the proof.
Posted by: LBH
| January 24, 2008 6:54 PM
Now you can disagree with the decision to go to war and I'm all for that. Both sides are niether right or wrong when making a personal decision of this kind. Just don't fall for the weakest part of the argument by attacking Bush for lying. I mean really that is just weak.
So Capt,
When it comes down to Hillary the liar (your words)
or McCain, who ya gunna vote for?
Show us your integrity.
"Also, just because I believe you haven't proven that Bush has lied doesn't mean I support him lock step and have stated in the past. "
So you admit Bush is a liar, I just haven't jumped through the hoops you deem necessary to accept the truth as proof? You have proven you will hear none of it. Bush never lied - That's cool, no biggie. Just because I (and some others) don’t think that position is tenable nor reality based does not make it so.
And (not that it matters) I wouldn't vote GOP.
Are you implying McCain is not a liar (or that I haven't proven it to you?) and that I would somehow gain integrity by claiming to support McCain?
Odd logic that.
If you can't bring yourself to admit Bush is a liar (a serial liar) it is not up to me to prove anything. Your position is not clear to me but so what.
In your heart of hearts you already know better. You own the premise while you make false calls for some proof that only exists if you have accepted and qualified it? Really? That sound reasonable and objective?
"Falsehood has an infinity of combinations, but truth has only one mode of being."
The Clinton's are misrepresenting Obama's record with lies and deception but that is nothing compared to the lies about Obama the RNC will foist on the American people... and they've started already - muslim, went to a madrassa, took oath of office on a koran - all of it complete fabrication repreated on FOX endlessly.
Look what George Bush did to John McCain in South Carolina in 2000. He called McCain a black-lover who produced a black love child and mentally ill. Bush's campaign was oh-fer, he had lost in Iowa and New Hampshire, and was one loss from finished.
If McCain had beat Bush in South Carolina we would never have invaded Iraq becuase Saddam Hussein never tried to assisinate John McCain's dad and Cheney would not have been VP.
Geroge Bush is the worst President ever, which is not a dig on conservatives becuase Bush is not conservative but radical, he's a neo-conservative and that's a horse of a different color.
"Bush is not conservative but radical"
As an old conservative - that is what I have always maintained - nothing conservative about being radical and Bush has always been a radical and a liar.
