Both Scott McInnis of Colorado and Mark Neumann of Wisconsin are challenging incumbent Democratic governors: McInnis is taking on Bill Ritter Jr., who is seeking a second term, and Neumann is challenging James E. Doyle, who is expected to run for a third term.
McInnis on Wednesday established a candidate committee and can begin raising money for a campaign against Ritter. McInnis, who filed an affidavit of candidacy in May, is joining a Republican field that includes businessman Dan Maes and that probably will grow to include Josh Penry, the state Senate Minority Leader.
